Senior Geologist - Reservoir Geomodeling

and reservoir modelling expertise across exploration, appraisal and development activities. The position transforms geological, geophysical, petrophysical and reservoir engineering information into representative static models that define reservoir architecture, quality and uncertainty. These models support volumetric calculations, dynamic simulation, well planning and field development decisions while being continuously refined as new drilling and subsurface information becomes available.

Key Responsibilities

* Define geological and subsurface data collection requirements in coordination with geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering and drilling disciplines.
* Design and execute complex geological studies aimed at identifying new prospects and hydrocarbon systems.
* Develop new exploration play concepts based on integrated regional and field-scale subsurface interpretation.
* Build technically robust geological models that accurately represent subsurface structure and reservoir characteristics.
* Review and challenge existing subsurface models to ensure geological integrity, consistency and appropriate treatment of uncertainty.
* Integrate regional and local geology, geophysics, petrophysics and reservoir engineering datasets.
* Build static reservoir models using Petrel or comparable geological modelling platforms.
* Interpret structural frameworks, faults and reservoir geometries for incorporation into three-dimensional models.
* Model depositional environments and facies distributions to represent reservoir architecture realistically.
* Incorporate diagenetic interpretation into reservoir property modelling where it influences rock quality and connectivity.
* Generate geological models describing reservoir size, geometry, continuity and spatial quality variations.
* Support reservoir development planning through reliable static model outputs.
* Provide geological inputs for reservoir production and well performance prediction.
* Conduct uncertainty analysis around geological structure, facies distribution and reservoir properties.
* Develop sensitivities for integration into volumetric assessment and reservoir simulation workflows.
* Provide reservoir engineers with up-scaled grids, surfaces, faults and property distributions for dynamic simulation.
* Work interactively with reservoir engineering teams to ensure static and dynamic models remain technically aligned.
* Review drilling, logging, coring and well testing programs for appraisal and development wells.
* Assess proposed programs for technical integrity, information value and cost-effectiveness.
* Participate in development of appraisal well proposals designed to evaluate prospective reservoirs and extensions.
* Support reserve and resource assessment through geological interpretation and reservoir modelling.
* Assist geological operations and drilling teams during well planning and execution.
* Use Petrel trajectory and well tracking functionality to evaluate proposed and active well paths.
* Provide real-time geological support during drilling where required.
* Conduct quality control of Logging While Drilling and wireline data as new information becomes available.
* Evaluate drilling results and incorporate findings into updated geological interpretations.
* Update reservoir models following new appraisal and development well results.
* Optimize geological models continuously to support improved well placement.
* Recommend drilling locations in collaboration with reservoir engineers and other subsurface specialists.
* Participate in prospect ranking and maturation activities across exploration portfolios.
* Apply reservoir rock-typing techniques to improve understanding of petrophysical and geological heterogeneity.
* Integrate structural geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology and geostatistical methods into modelling workflows.
* Maintain technical consistency between geological interpretation, reservoir properties and volumetric calculations.
* Present geological models, uncertainties, recommendations and development implications to multidisciplinary teams and management.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor\'s Degree in Geology, Geophysics or a related geoscience discipline.
* Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in exploration and development geology.
* Extensive experience in exploration play evaluation, prospect ranking and prospect maturation.
* Strong development geology background covering geological modelling and well design.
* Advanced experience with static reservoir modelling and volumetric estimation.
* Demonstrated expertise in reservoir rock-typing methodologies.
* Significant experience with carbonate reservoirs.
* Strong regional geological understanding applicable to complex hydrocarbon systems.
* Advanced user capability in Petrel.
* Experience with other professional geomodelling applications is advantageous.
* Thorough understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy and sedimentology.
* Strong knowledge of geostatistics and reservoir property modelling.
* Understanding of geophysics, petrophysics and reservoir simulation sufficient for multidisciplinary integration.
* Experience integrating well, seismic and reservoir engineering information into static models.
* Strong ability to conduct geological uncertainty and sensitivity analysis.
* Experience supporting appraisal and development well planning.
* Knowledge of LWD, wireline and real-time drilling data evaluation.
* Strong technical judgment with the ability to challenge geological assumptions and model quality.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, petrophysicists and drilling teams.
