Role Context
The Senior Hook-Up Engineer is responsible for leading discipline-specific offshore hook-up activities and supporting the Hook-Up Lead and Hook-Up Manager during construction and completion campaigns. This role ensures efficient execution of offshore installation, construction readiness, material availability, and commissioning alignment while maintaining full compliance with project schedules, HSE standards, and operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and review hook-up job cards including prerequisites, sequential installation requirements, and completion activities
* Develop work breakdown structures for discipline-specific hook-up scope and execution planning
* Review construction work packs and ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering requirements
* Prepare detailed hook-up schedules with efficient sequencing and synchronization across multiple disciplines
* Participate in pre-engineering surveys, pre-construction surveys, and post-installation surveys
* Develop and monitor constructability logs and ensure weekly closure of action items
* Review design MTOs and verify offshore contingency material requirements
* Review material requisitions and ensure compliance with project specifications before procurement
* Coordinate delivery of materials to yard, port, offshore, and other required onshore locations
* Maintain hook-up progress registers and ensure progress tracking aligns with approved job cards
* Liaise with warehouse teams to confirm material receiving status and quality inspection clearance
* Coordinate with fabrication teams for handover of fabricated materials and project cargo
* Verify material bagging and tagging requirements with the hook-up material team according to project needs
* Develop and implement detailed hook-up execution plans and offshore installation strategies
* Support junior engineers with technical guidance and ensure quality and schedule compliance
* Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to ensure safe offshore operations
* Coordinate with commissioning teams to align construction priorities with system completion targets
* Support commissioning teams to expedite vendor-related activities and system readiness
* Ensure offshore crews and Hook-Up Superintendents are fully familiar with project scope before mobilization
* Participate in Toolbox Talks and ensure Permit-To-Work compliance with company QHSES policies
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical, or equivalent industry experience
* Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore engineering, hook-up, and construction execution
* Strong knowledge of offshore hook-up activities, commissioning coordination, and construction planning
* Solid understanding of API, ISO, and industry standards related to offshore installation and project execution
* Experience using project management tools for planning, scheduling, and tracking construction and commissioning progress
* Strong technical ability to review drawings, specifications, and identify corrective actions where needed
* Excellent communication and leadership skills for coordination with clients, project teams, and offshore crews
* Strong decision-making ability under pressure with focus on safety, quality, and schedule delivery
* PMI certification or project management training is an added advantage
