The Senior HVAC Inspector - Oil and Gas will be responsible for inspecting HVAC systems and related equipment across oil and gas field projects. The role is important for verifying that heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are installed, tested, documented, and maintained according to project standards, safety expectations, and client requirements.
This position supports reliable project delivery by combining mechanical engineering knowledge, HVAC inspection expertise, blueprint reading, regulatory standards awareness, equipment testing, troubleshooting, and disciplined technical reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect HVAC systems, equipment, components, ducting, ventilation arrangements, and related mechanical installations in oil and gas project environments.
* Review HVAC work against approved drawings, project specifications, regulatory standards, and applicable inspection procedures.
* Check installation quality, equipment condition, system performance, testing activities, and compliance with client requirements.
* Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, mechanical layouts, inspection plans, and HVAC system documentation.
* Support inspection activities related to HVAC equipment testing, commissioning checks, troubleshooting, and quality verification.
* Verify compliance with relevant standards including ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO, BS, and other project-specific requirements.
* Identify installation defects, performance concerns, documentation gaps, safety issues, or non-compliance items.
* Prepare detailed inspection reports, technical observations, corrective action notes, and supporting documentation.
* Coordinate with engineering teams, QA-QC personnel, contractors, site supervisors, and client representatives.
* Support project quality by ensuring HVAC inspection records are accurate, complete, and ready for review.
* Monitor inspection progress and help resolve technical issues that may affect project timelines or system acceptance.
* Maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and professional discipline during all inspection activities.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* 15-16 years of experience in oil and gas field projects, with strong exposure to HVAC systems and equipment.
* Proven experience in HVAC inspection, building systems review, mechanical equipment checks, and technical documentation.
* Strong working knowledge of ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO, BS, and related industrial standards.
* Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings, mechanical layouts, blueprints, and project specifications.
* Good understanding of HVAC system inspection, code compliance, regulatory standards, and quality procedures.
* Practical experience in equipment testing, troubleshooting, commissioning support, and inspection reporting.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify technical defects and compliance gaps.
* Good communication skills for coordination with contractors, clients, QA-QC teams, and project stakeholders.
* Ability to work in demanding oil and gas project environments with disciplined safety and quality focus.
