Role Context
The Senior Manager operates at the center of strategic transaction execution, converting investment opportunities into robust financial and commercial cases for senior decision-makers. The position takes ownership of individual deal workstreams while maintaining financial model quality, coordinating advisers and ensuring investment submissions comply with established governance requirements. Through disciplined transaction management and cross-functional coordination, the role helps strengthen portfolio value, capital allocation and execution of strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead individual transaction workstreams covering mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, disposals and other strategic investments.
* Manage financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, transaction structuring and project execution activities according to deal requirements.
* Support equity and debt capital market transactions and capital structure optimization initiatives across the Group.
* Build, review and challenge financial models used to evaluate investment opportunities and strategic transactions.
* Present financial model assumptions, methodologies, sensitivities and conclusions to relevant internal stakeholders.
* Ensure finalized transaction models are internally consistent, quality assured and compliant with Group Economic Evaluation Guidelines.
* Coordinate commercial, financial and strategic due diligence activities and follow critical findings through the transaction process.
* Develop investment analysis that supports informed decision-making on potential acquisitions, partnerships, divestments and financing alternatives.
* Prepare transaction presentations, investment materials and other documentation required for internal and external stakeholders.
* Coordinate procurement, appointment and management of financial, commercial, technical and other external advisers.
* Monitor adviser deliverables, timelines and project requirements to maintain efficient transaction execution.
* Support development and continuous enhancement of Group Investment Governance Policies and Framework.
* Assist with revisions and implementation of investment governance requirements across Group companies.
* Manage the flow of investment proposals and supporting documentation through established governance processes.
* Coordinate investment project submissions to the relevant investment committee and help ensure timely progression through approval stages.
* Verify that transaction execution follows applicable investment processes, policies and governance guidelines.
* Act as a focal point for operational deal matters involving internal and external transaction team members.
* Coordinate information gathering, management discussions, meetings and transaction-related follow-up activities.
* Work closely with Treasury, Planning, Assurance, Risk and other Finance functions throughout investment evaluation and execution.
* Engage Legal, Governance, IT, HR and other corporate functions where their input is required for transaction completion.
* Coordinate with business lines to develop investment business cases and validate strategic and commercial assumptions.
* Liaise with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Marketing and Sales teams to complete transaction requirements.
* Maintain productive engagement with potential shareholders, strategic partners and other transaction counterparties.
* Coordinate with government entities, vendors, contractors and third-party service providers when required.
* Support delivery and monitoring of strategic investment performance scorecards.
* Provide inputs for management information systems and transaction progress reporting.
* Contribute to departmental budget preparation and monitor significant expenditure variances affecting assigned activities.
* Identify improvements to investment evaluation, transaction management and governance processes.
* Develop practical tools and techniques that strengthen deal execution efficiency and analytical quality.
* Supervise assigned team activities and develop staff capabilities in financial analysis and transaction execution.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
* Master\'s Degree in Finance is advantageous.
* Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
* Career exposure may include mergers and acquisitions, new business development, commercial or trading activities, growth initiatives and business model development.
* Extensive financial management experience with strong understanding of investment evaluation.
* Demonstrated ability to execute complex strategic transaction workstreams.
* Strong experience in financial modelling, valuation and investment analysis.
* Practical understanding of mergers and acquisitions due diligence and transaction structuring.
* Exposure to joint ventures, divestments, equity transactions or debt capital market activities is highly valuable.
* Ability to assess capital structure alternatives and their financial implications.
* Strong strategic capability with the ability to connect transaction analysis to wider organizational priorities.
* Experience working within formal investment governance and approval frameworks.
* Ability to prepare investment committee materials and communicate complex financial analysis clearly.
* Strong project management capability across multidisciplinary transaction teams.
* Experience managing external financial, commercial or professional advisers.
* Confident stakeholder management skills for interaction with senior executives, business leaders, partners and external counterparties.
* Strong commercial judgment, analytical discipline and attention to financial detail.
* CPA, ACCA or CFA professional certification is preferred.
