Key Responsibilities
* Direct and participate in geological activities across assigned fields, concession areas, and reservoir study programs.
* Acquire, validate, and interpret geological data to support reservoir characterization and field development decisions.
* Construct, update, and improve geological models, including 3D static models used for reservoir simulation and hydrocarbon-in-place evaluation.
* Coordinate geological requirements and predictions for appraisal wells, development wells, and reservoir evaluation programs.
* Integrate geological findings with reservoir engineering, geophysics, petrophysics, and other technical studies completed by the assigned team.
* Provide technical advice to project team members on reservoir geology, carbonate reservoir behavior, and subsurface interpretation.
* Coordinate and contribute to reservoir appraisal activities, including review and evaluation of well test results.
* Initiate and closely follow up geology-related studies carried out by consultants or shareholders for new reservoirs and assigned fields.
* Participate in contracting activities related to special reservoir geology field testing.
* Define the scope of special tests, prepare technical specifications, evaluate bids, and support contract award recommendations when assigned.
* Monitor contractor progress and performance to ensure compliance with contract terms, deliverables, and agreed schedules.
* Review and prepare study progress reports while ensuring alignment with company standards, professional practices, and technical procedures.
* Ensure proper receipt, calibration, plotting, tabulation, and database updating of geological data used in reservoir studies.
* Support accurate simulation of reservoirs, recoverable hydrocarbon calculations, and optimization of field development and reservoir management programs.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Geology or an equivalent discipline.
* Minimum 8 years of experience in petroleum geology.
* At least 4 years of experience in carbonate reservoir geology.
* Strong knowledge of reservoir geology, geological modelling, appraisal studies, field development planning, and subsurface data interpretation.
* Practical experience in building or improving geological models, including 3D static reservoir models.
* Ability to integrate geological data with reservoir engineering, geophysical, petrophysical, and field development inputs.
* Strong understanding of hydrocarbon-in-place estimation, reservoir appraisal, and recoverable reserves evaluation.
* Experience working with consultants, contractors, shareholders, or multidisciplinary technical teams on reservoir studies.
* Good technical reporting skills with the ability to review study progress, validate results, and maintain professional documentation standards.
* Detail-focused approach to geological data quality, database updates, calibration, plotting, and interpretation accuracy.
