What Are the Main Responsibilities of a Senior Pipeline Engineer?
A Senior Pipeline Engineer ensures that pipeline design, analysis, and engineering deliverables meet regulatory standards and project specifications for offshore and onshore developments.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Design & Engineering
- Perform onshore and offshore pipeline engineering, including stress analysis, buckling assessment, and code compliance
- Prepare engineering specifications, calculations, and design reports
- Conduct pipeline risk assessments and recommend improvements for safety and efficiency
Compliance & Code Adherence
- Ensure pipeline design meets international standards, including DNV F101, API 1111, ASME B31.4, and B31.8
- Review and approve pipeline engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with project scope and regulations
Project Coordination & Quality Control
- Assist the Lead Engineer in planning and scheduling engineering tasks
- Conduct quality control checks on pipeline engineering deliverables
- Work closely with EPC project teams and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure pipeline integrity
What Qualifications & Skills Are Required for This Position?
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field
- 10+ years of experience in offshore and onshore pipeline engineering
- Proficiency in pipeline engineering software for design and analysis
- Strong knowledge of pipeline regulations, industry codes, and safety standards
- Ability to prepare pipeline stress analysis, buckling assessments, and engineering reports
- Experience in handling engineering tasks for EPC/EPCI offshore oil & gas projects
