Role Context
The Senior Principal Package Management Specialist is responsible for leading the delivery of high-value engineered packages across the full project lifecycle. This role ensures vendor performance, supply chain coordination, contractual compliance, and package delivery excellence while managing risks, commercial interfaces, and multidisciplinary stakeholder alignment. The position directly supports project profitability, schedule reliability, and operational success across complex global energy developments.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full delivery ownership of critical, high-value purchase orders and subcontract packages across major EPC projects
* Drive Engineering, Supply Chain, QHSES, and suppliers to ensure package delivery remains on schedule and within budget
* Act as the formal point of contact for all vendor communications after purchase order award
* Manage the delivery of assigned engineered packages throughout the full project lifecycle
* Establish key progress measurements for engineering deliverables, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and delivery milestones
* Identify, document, quantify, and escalate package delivery risks while implementing mitigation plans
* Maintain accurate accounting of package cost, commitments, forecasts, variations, and commercial exposure
* Ensure timely handover of vendor documentation aligned with engineering and project schedules
* Enforce Management of Change processes and manage Project Change Notices for delivery scope adjustments
* Lead status meetings with vendors, clients, and project stakeholders to track progress and resolve bottlenecks
* Manage vendor and supplier performance to prevent delays, cost overruns, and schedule disruptions
* Oversee commercial interfaces and ensure all contractual obligations are properly administered and communicated
* Coordinate with project planners and fabrication teams to report baseline delivery performance and project anomalies
* Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and client requirements for all delivered products
* Lead contingency planning, lessons learned reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives across package delivery
* Support leadership in identifying talent and strengthening package management discipline capability
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant discipline
* 10 to 16 years of relevant experience in package management, supply chain, or EPC project delivery
* Strong knowledge of prime contracts, vendor contracts, and subcontract commercial administration
* Proven expertise in managing high-value engineered packages for offshore, fabrication, or large industrial projects
* Strong commercial awareness with solid technical and business decision-making ability
* Experience managing vendor relationships, escalations, and multidisciplinary stakeholder coordination
* Strong understanding of project planning, fabrication interfaces, procurement, and schedule control
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong leadership and negotiation capability
