Senior Specialist, Market Intelligence & Economics - Exciting Opportunity in Singapore

About the Role

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Specialist in Market Intelligence & Economics, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Sales & Marketing organization. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality market intelligence materials, including timely reports and insightful analyses related to historical performance and future outlooks on products, applications, geographies, and competitor dynamics. This position is based in the vibrant city of Singapore.

Key Accountabilities

- Prepare regular market and industry outlook analysis reports, monitoring industry pricing, production plant operations, and margin developments across various regions.
- Maintain the structural integrity and accuracy of the Market Intelligence databases (MI Database), ensuring it is updated with the latest information from relevant sources for effective business planning and pricing reference.
- Collaborate with the Market Intelligence Manager in market update discussions during price-setting meetings and deliver presentations to diverse teams.
- Provide training on the effective use and access to various Market Intelligence tools, databases, procedures, and information sources.
- Coordinate and manage subscription requests and renewals with stakeholders, keeping an updated registry of procured reports.
- Maintain an electronic Market Intelligence library for knowledge management, ensuring compliance with all licensing agreements for online intelligence sharing.
- Gather and validate market intelligence through active engagement and collaboration with various levels of Sales & Marketing, Business Controlling, and Pricing functions.
- Assist in organizing projects and occasionally take the lead on specific initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape, evaluating major competitors’ strategies to support Borouge’s strategic direction.
- Contribute to the development and updates of company strategy with accurate and timely market intelligence information and insights.

Business Plan General Guidelines & Assumptions

- Source, collate, and validate forecast data (MI Database) on macroeconomic indicators and polyolefin-related supply and demand balances for business planning and strategic activities.
- Prepare and validate competitor positioning, market size, and market share information.
- Support the Market Intelligence Manager in preparing analyses and writing the outlook for the Guidelines and Assumptions document, along with presentation support materials.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

- University degree or higher in Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

- Business or marketing experience with a solid understanding of petrochemical market dynamics and economics.
- Knowledge of markets, competitors, value chains, and macroeconomic analysis.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in data analysis, report writing, business consulting, and database management.
- Strong business writing skills complemented by excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal relationship abilities.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential, and an understanding of Chinese will be an added advantage.
