About the Job
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Technician specializing in Fire & Gas Maintenance! In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the instrumentation and control maintenance of Fire, Gas, and Telecom systems. Your expertise will ensure the effective operation of critical equipment through scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown maintenance. Our goal is to minimize failures, reduce maintenance costs, prevent production losses, and enhance equipment reliability and availability.

Key Accountabilities
- Supervise and actively participate in preventive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance activities for Fire & Gas Systems, supporting production, quality, and safety requirements.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, skilled maintenance, repair, and testing of Fire & Gas systems, and engage in plant shutdown activities to ensure equipment availability.
- Take part in major overhauls of equipment, meticulously checking clearances and determining the usage or replacement of parts.
- Issue detailed daily activity reports outlining fault causes, work nature, and materials, labor, and time taken for task completion.
- Allocate tasks to assigned technicians and assist in diagnosing complex faults as necessary.
- Inspect and test completed work to ensure efficient performance of equipment in accordance with established requirements.
- Monitor and test the status of Fire & Gas Communication Networks and Modules, performing routine checks of Fire and Gas Servers, Workstations, and Fire Stations.
- Report hardware and software malfunctions using diagnostic software and equipment to ensure effective system management.
- Respond promptly to emergency callouts, analyzing and rectifying root causes of Fire & Gas issues to maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Recommend upgrades and replacements for obsolete equipment to enhance plant reliability and support cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain Fire, Gas & Telecom (FGT) systems across Borouge Plants within established guidelines.
- Ensure optimal performance and availability of FGT assets by adhering to established procedures.
- Perform maintenance, calibration, and repair on a variety of FGT equipment installed at Borouge facilities according to procedures.
- Participate in reviewing project specifications, providing input on plant system requirements to facilitate effective operations.
- Monitor database records and drawings for all activities and modifications within the system for effective maintenance.
- Obtain work permits from Area Authority, review assigned work, and arrange necessary transport, materials, tools, and equipment for task completion.
- Perform timely corrective actions for Fire, Gas, and Telecom system troubles, conducting daily health checks and initiating appropriate actions.
- Log daily on-call corrective actions and ensure execution of Project/Turnaround scope of work. Troubleshoot failures/devices in the field and workshop.
- Conduct routine maintenance for smoke, heat, flame, thermo-wire detectors, manual call points, horns, strobe lights, and local fire control panels in the plant and buildings, including the main fire control system at the fire station control room.
- Perform routine maintenance for Hydrocarbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, and H2S gas detectors, horns, and strobe lights in compliance with calibration schedules and standards.
- Carry out routine maintenance for firefighting systems, including deluge systems with scheduled functional tests of deluge valves and all pressure switches.

Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent technical qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of various equipment in production facilities within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry.
- Thorough understanding of HSE requirements for field maintenance jobs.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS basic operations related to maintenance and basic computerized tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of the components and workings of electric transmission and distribution networks.
- Proficient in using documentation and reporting procedures for abnormal conditions.
- Skilled in inspecting and testing equipment and circuits to identify malfunctions or defects using wiring diagrams and testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or ammeters.
- Able to consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems, ensuring optimal equipment functionality.
