The Teacher - French GCSE and A Level will support students in developing confidence and accuracy across speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural understanding. The role focuses on delivering engaging French lessons for GCSE and A Level classes while contributing to a positive school culture shaped by Grow, Flourish, and Mindfulness. Working within GEMS Founders School Al Mizhar, the teacher will help students achieve strong academic progress, prepare effectively for examinations, and participate confidently in language learning inside and beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach French to GCSE and A Level students through well-planned, engaging, and academically focused lessons.
* Deliver French curriculum content with accurate subject knowledge, clear learning objectives, and strong classroom practice.
* Support students in speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, translation, and cultural awareness.
* Prepare students for internal assessments, external examinations, oral tasks, written work, and independent language study.
* Plan differentiated lessons that challenge high-achieving learners while supporting students who need additional guidance.
* Use creative teaching strategies, digital tools, authentic language resources, classroom discussion, and interactive activities to improve student engagement.
* Monitor, assess, record, and report student progress using clear evidence, feedback, targets, and assessment data.
* Demonstrate exemplary teaching practice and contribute to continuous improvement within the department.
* Create a positive classroom environment that encourages confidence, curiosity, creativity, respect, resilience, and active participation.
* Work closely with colleagues, students, parents, department leaders, and school leadership to support student achievement and wellbeing.
* Contribute to extra-curricular programmes, cultural activities, language events, community initiatives, and wider school life.
