Turnaround Planner – Oil and Gas Maintenance Projects – Abu Dhabi, UAE

Position Overview
ADNOC is seeking a Turnaround Planner to coordinate and monitor the full lifecycle of turnaround activities in Abu Dhabi. The role covers preparation, budgeting, contracting, execution, and close-out phases, ensuring milestones, KPIs, and technical criteria are achieved. This position requires close collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to deliver turnaround projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Core Duties

* Review work scopes for equipment selected for turnaround and confirm requirements with OEMs or vendors.
* Evaluate alternative solutions with technical stakeholders to reduce risks.
* Contribute to turnaround budget preparation, ensuring effective and controlled spending.
* Define technical objectives for each equipment item and monitor implementation to align with corporate goals.
* Develop process pathways for turnaround activities to ensure effective scheduling and execution.
* Establish quality and HSE contract execution criteria with functional teams and communicate requirements to vendors.
* Prepare technical input and scope of service requirements for turnaround contracts in coordination with procurement.
* Participate in contractor selection, assessment, and screening to ensure technical competence.
* Supervise contractor execution of activities, verifying adherence to turnaround plans and technical specifications.
* Support close-out activities, including contract reconciliation and final project reporting.
* Share industry best practices and lessons learned to improve future turnaround quality and efficiency.
* Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and ensure compliance with internal and external review outcomes.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2–3 years in technical projects or maintenance, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
* Strong knowledge of turnaround planning, maintenance practices, and project execution.
* Skilled in preparing technical documentation, budgets, and contract scopes.
* Familiarity with quality standards, HSE guidelines, and vendor management.
* Effective communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
