What you will be doing:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up and training operators to run a SMART SV3 CNC vertical mill and a SMART NL2500SY CNC lathe. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex technical drawings and specifications.
Job Duties & Requirements:
Produce CNC programs using GIBBS CAM software based on current engineering drawings and specifications.
Plan program priorities by analysing usage.
Instruct operators on proper set up for the CNC machines (e.g., lathe, mill) to produce quality parts with high efficiency.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, leads and other team members to identify opportunities for process improvements.
Increase throughput by reducing and combining operations and set ups where applicable.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
The skills and experience you need:
Two (2) to three (3) years of CNC programing experience
Experience using GIBBS CAM software.
Knowledge of machines and tools.
Mathematical proficiency
Attention to detail as finish part tolerances are critical and quality expectations are demanding.
Demonstrated proficiency programming, setup and final machining to finished part
Able to efficiently perform required work in a simplified, organized, and effective manner.
Able to effectively communicate with Production Manager, Engineering, Leads and employees.
Strong documentation skills, reporting skills and computer skills.
Ability to think and react quickly to changing situations and adjust to changing priorities.
