Role Context

The Program Manager - Capacity Planning will own the transportation capacity-planning charter for Amazon Logistics stations and sort centers across the AMET region. The role will compare projected demand with available network capacity, identify future constraints, and implement practical solutions that protect operational continuity.

Programs may include low-cost storage, bin-slotting optimization, regional distribution centers, sub-same-day launches, pop-up delivery partner sites, and other network-expansion initiatives. The manager will also ensure engineering and facility designs incorporate standard capacity requirements before new sites become operational.

Key Responsibilities

* Own transportation capacity planning for Amazon Logistics stations and sort centers across the region.

* Develop reliable reporting mechanisms for capacity, utilization, storage availability, and network readiness.

* Gather data from operational systems, planning tools, site teams, and supply chain stakeholders.

* Analyze demand forecasts, available capacity, storage requirements, and operational performance.

* Identify future capacity shortages, site constraints, and network risks before they affect operations.

* Develop data-backed recommendations and detailed action plans for identified capacity gaps.

* Drive agreed actions through implementation and confirm that solutions deliver the expected results.

* Support Transportation Operations teams across Africa, the Middle East, and Türkiye with capacity analysis.

* Coordinate capacity execution with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Technology, and launch stakeholders.

* Compare projected transportation requirements with available Amazon Logistics capacity.

* Develop innovative and cost-effective storage solutions for seasonal, temporary, and long-term needs.

* Evaluate options involving additional storage, layout changes, process adjustments, and network redistribution.

* Conduct regular site audits covering capacity-planning standards, operating practices, and process compliance.

* Document audit findings and coordinate corrective actions with responsible site leaders.

* Work with Engineering Design teams to ensure capacity requirements are included in facility layouts.

* Partner with station and sort-center launch teams to validate design inputs before project approval.

* Review storage layouts, process flows, equipment locations, and operational assumptions.

* Lead critical capacity-planning projects that increase network capability and improve space utilization.

* Manage bin-slotting improvement initiatives to increase storage efficiency and operational accessibility.

* Lead regional programs involving low-cost storage and temporary capacity solutions.

* Support the launch of new sub-same-day operations and related network infrastructure.

* Coordinate pop-up Delivery Service Partner site launches when additional capacity is required.

* Support the implementation of regional distribution centers and other strategic network programs.

* Define project scope, requirements, schedules, dependencies, risks, and accountable owners.

* Develop mitigation plans for schedule, design, resource, and operational risks.

* Lead programs from initial analysis through execution, launch, and post-implementation review.

* Use advanced Microsoft Excel and SQL to analyze capacity and operational data.

* Prepare project updates, decision documents, risk summaries, and recommendations for senior leadership.

* Present capacity plans, network constraints, project progress, and investment requirements regularly.

* Influence internal and external stakeholders without relying on direct reporting authority.

* Build repeatable processes, planning tools, templates, and governance mechanisms for future projects.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor\'s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations, business administration, analytics, or a related discipline.

* At least 3 years of program management or project management experience.

* Minimum 3 years of experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.

* At least 3 years of experience defining and implementing process improvements using data and performance metrics.

* Proven ability to define program requirements and translate analysis into operational improvements.

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLookUps.

* Practical SQL knowledge for data extraction, aggregation, and capacity analysis.

* Strong understanding of project plans, schedules, risks, dependencies, and execution governance.

* Ability to analyze data from several sources and develop clear recommendations.

* Experience managing complex programs in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.

* Strong commercial and operational judgment when comparing capacity, cost, speed, and scalability.

* Ability to collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Design, Technology, and launch teams.

* Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills across different organizational levels.

* Excellent written communication and executive presentation capability.

* Experience delivering projects end to end and presenting results to senior leadership is preferred.

* At least 3 years of process-improvement experience is advantageous.

* Previous exposure to logistics, sort centers, delivery stations, network planning, storage design, or fulfillment operations is beneficial.
