The A-Level Economics Teacher - Secondary will support senior students in building a strong understanding of economic concepts, exam techniques, analytical reasoning, and real-world economic application. The role contributes to academic achievement by preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, and classroom activities that encourage higher order thinking, critical analysis, independent learning, and strong A-Level exam readiness.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Economics to A-Level students in line with curriculum requirements and examination expectations.
* Prepare students for A-Level Economics exams through structured lessons, targeted practice, and clear academic guidance.
* Develop schemes of work, assessment plans, daily lesson plans, and weekly learning schedules for the year group.
* Design assessment tasks that measure student understanding, analytical ability, written response quality, and exam readiness.
* Deliver engaging lessons that connect economic theory with real-world examples, current issues, and practical applications.
* Encourage active learning, critical thinking, problem solving, higher order thinking skills, and independent analysis.
* Monitor student progress through classwork, assignments, mock exams, feedback sessions, and performance tracking.
* Raise classroom teaching standards through reflective practice, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Manage class teacher responsibilities with a focus on student knowledge enrichment, discipline, and academic progress.
* Use IT tools, digital resources, data, and presentation methods to support effective teaching and learning.
* Communicate professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership regarding student performance and support needs.
* Work as an active team member within the department and contribute to curriculum planning, academic discussions, and student development.
* Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, assessment results, attendance, feedback, and academic documentation.

Ideal Profile
* Qualified teacher with strong academic background in Economics or a related subject.
* A-Level Economics teaching exposure is required.
* Immediate availability to join is required.
* Strong understanding of A-Level examination requirements, assessment standards, and student preparation strategies.
* Ability to prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment tasks, and structured learning materials.
