Role Context
The Art Teacher - Fine Arts will support students in developing artistic skills, creative thinking, visual awareness, and confidence through structured classroom instruction and practical art activities. The role contributes to the school’s creative learning culture by encouraging students to experiment with different media, understand artistic concepts, complete meaningful projects, and appreciate art as part of personal and academic development.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach art lessons that support creativity, visual expression, technical skill development, and curriculum learning outcomes.
* Plan and deliver engaging classroom activities using drawing, painting, design, craft, mixed media, and other suitable art forms.
* Guide students in exploring color, composition, texture, form, perspective, and creative presentation.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to express ideas through art.
* Support students with different ability levels by using varied teaching methods, demonstrations, and practical guidance.
* Assess student artwork, class participation, creative progress, and project completion through constructive feedback.
* Maintain organized lesson plans, assessment records, classroom displays, and student portfolio documentation.
* Encourage students to think independently, solve creative problems, and present their artwork with confidence.
* Manage art materials, classroom resources, tools, and displays in a safe and organized manner.
* Support school exhibitions, art displays, creative events, competitions, and student showcases when required.
* Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to strengthen creative learning across the school.
* Maintain classroom discipline, safety standards, and respectful learning routines during practical art sessions.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field is required.
* Master’s degree in a relevant subject will be preferred.
* Previous experience teaching art to diverse student populations is required.
* Experience in a British Curriculum school will be an advantage.
* Strong knowledge of visual arts, creative techniques, classroom projects, and student-centered art instruction.
* Ability to inspire students and make art lessons engaging, practical, and age-appropriate.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Passion for art, education, creative development, and inclusive classroom learning.
* Ability to manage art resources, student projects, and classroom routines effectively.
