Role Context

The Assistant Principal - School Leadership will support the Principal and Vice Principal in strengthening teaching quality, student progress, assessment systems, staff performance, and school development priorities. This position plays a key role in translating school improvement goals into practical action through monitoring, data-led intervention, teacher support, reporting, standardized testing coordination, and professional development planning. By ensuring smooth school operations and high expectations across classrooms, the role contributes directly to student achievement, staff effectiveness, and the continued development of a positive charter school learning culture.

Key Responsibilities

* Direct and quality assure daily activities involving staff and students to maintain a safe, orderly, and learning-focused school environment.
* Support the annual school assessment and monitoring master schedule in coordination with the school leadership team and department leaders.
* Work with the Principal and Vice Principal to supervise and evaluate teachers, supervisors, and curriculum support staff as assigned.
* Provide leadership in screening, interviewing, and recommending applicants for teaching and non-teaching positions.
* Implement student achievement improvement actions aligned with the school development plan, ADEK requirements, and Aldar Education priorities.
* Support school improvement plans, standardized testing, remediation programs, data collection, reporting, special schedules, and testing procedures.
* Lead or support the MAP and Exact Path student achievement plan to improve student attainment, progress, and targeted intervention.
* Develop progress-based testing schedules in coordination with assessment leaders and relevant school teams.
* Oversee processes related to assessment, reporting, student attainment, progress tracking, data collection, student records, and archiving.
* Collaborate with the senior leadership team on new or revised instructional methods, learning materials, strategies, and school programs.
* Identify gaps in teaching and learning, then support practical interventions that raise standards and improve student outcomes.
* Assist in developing and implementing staff CPD plans that support professional growth and improve teaching quality.
* Help complete and submit reports, forms, data requests, and school documentation accurately and within required timelines.
* Meet regularly with administrators, teachers, and support staff to promote collaboration, accountability, and effective school operations.
* Work with parents and external agencies to support student progress, wellbeing, and school improvement objectives.
* Use performance data to diagnose learning needs, plan interventions, monitor impact, and support evidence-based decision-making.
* Handle confidential student, staff, and school information with professional judgment and discretion.
* Support operational decision-making, staff coordination, and follow-up on delegated school leadership priorities.
* Perform additional duties assigned by the School Principal in line with school needs and leadership responsibilities.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor Degree in Education or B.Sc degree with PGCE is essential.
* Master’s degree is desirable.
* Minimum 6 years of education experience.
* At least 4 consecutive years of teaching performance that exceeds standards and expectations, supported by performance appraisal evidence.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a middle leadership role.
* Experience leading school initiatives that improved standards, student progress, achievement, or teaching quality.
* Strong knowledge of teaching and learning, curriculum delivery, assessment systems, and school improvement planning.
* Proven ability to use data to identify learning gaps, plan interventions, evaluate impact, and support student achievement.
* Experience working with parents, external agencies, school leadership teams, teachers, and support staff.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams, maintain accountability, and support professional growth.
* Able to organize priorities, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and respond effectively to school operational needs.
* Sound judgment when handling staff matters, student information, assessment data, and confidential records.
* Confident in supporting teacher supervision, performance review, staff CPD, and school-wide improvement processes.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work constructively across all levels of the school community.
* Positive, solution-focused, and committed to maintaining high expectations for students and staff.
