Aldar Education is seeking a UAE National Classroom Assistant to join Pearl British Academy in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with an immediate start. The role provides academic and classroom support to individual pupils and groups, helping them participate effectively in learning activities while supporting their social, emotional and physical well-being.
Working alongside class teachers, the Classroom Assistant will reinforce learning, provide individual and group instruction as directed, support pupils with additional needs and help maintain an organised, safe and inclusive learning environment.

Pupil Learning Support
The Classroom Assistant will provide
appropriate support inside and outside the classroom to help pupils participate fully in activities throughout the school day.
- Provide academic assistance to individual pupils and groups.
- Deliver group instruction prescribed by the teacher and provide individual instruction when required.
- Demonstrate instructional activities and reinforce classroom learning.
- Assist with the implementation of individual education programmes and help monitor pupil progress.
- Support pupils with additional needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Help pupils develop positive social skills and greater confidence.
- Keep pupils focused and engaged with assigned learning activities.
- Monitor work assigned by the teacher and check pupil work while it is in progress.
- Praise and reinforce pupil achievement and report progress to the teacher.
- Support pupils\' social, emotional and physical well-being.
Classroom and Teacher Support
The Classroom Assistant will work closely with class teachers to support daily teaching activities and maintain an organised learning environment.
- Assist teachers with maintaining pupil records.
- Prepare and present displays of pupil work.
- Support photocopying and other practical teaching tasks.
- Check pupil attendance.
- Reorganise classroom materials at the end of the day.
- Support the aims and established practices of the school.
- Maintain a proactive approach to health and safety.
- Comply with relevant legislation, school policies and health and safety requirements.
Supervision and Behaviour Support
The role includes supervising pupils in classrooms and other school locations while helping maintain positive standards of behaviour.
The Classroom Assistant will reinforce appropriate conduct, promote pupil self-esteem and respond to misbehaviour in accordance with whole-school policy. The successful candidate will help maintain a learning environment where pupils feel safe, respected and supported.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum secondary school certificate.
- Bachelor\'s qualification may also be considered.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a school setting.
- English language skills appropriate to the school curriculum.
- UAE National.
- Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check or police check.
