Role Context
The Computer Science Teacher - School role supports high-quality teaching and learning across Aldar Education schools from the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. The teacher will plan and deliver inspiring lessons that encourage curiosity, digital confidence, practical problem-solving, and independent thinking while supporting students across different ability levels.
This position requires a reflective and collaborative educator who can organise classroom resources, use assessment data to guide planning, communicate effectively with parents, and contribute to the wider school community through curriculum action groups, extra-curricular activities, and student wellbeing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging Computer Science lessons that inspire students and support strong learning outcomes.
* Plan, prepare, and present lessons that match curriculum requirements and student learning needs.
* Organise classroom provision, learning resources, and displays to create a positive and technology-rich learning environment.
* Use creative teaching strategies to build student interest in computing, digital literacy, coding concepts, and problem-solving.
* Support the full ability range through differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practice.
* Observe, assess, and record student progress in line with school assessment procedures.
* Use Target Tracker and assessment data to influence future planning, provision, and intervention.
* Reflect on lessons, student progress, and classroom practice to improve teaching quality.
* Work with fellow teachers to plan curriculum-aligned lessons and share effective learning resources.
* Cooperate with curriculum support staff and external professionals where required to support student development.
* Communicate clearly with parents and carers about student achievement, progress, and wellbeing.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and manage classes using approaches that motivate and challenge learners.
* Promote self-control, independence, respectful behaviour, and positive attitudes to learning.
* Use school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate to report student wellbeing or safeguarding matters.
* Participate in curriculum action groups, planning, assessment, resources, and special school events.
* Support school activities, outings, evening events, weekend events, and wider community initiatives when required.
* Run a weekly ECA each term to strengthen digital learning and student engagement beyond the classroom.
* Uphold safeguarding, child protection, professional conduct, and all school policy expectations.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, Information Technology, or a related subject.
* PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience.
* Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
* Clear understanding of curriculum delivery, classroom assessment, and student progress tracking.
* Ability to teach technology-related concepts in an engaging, practical, and age-appropriate way.
* Strong communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
* Collaborative team player who can work flexibly with teachers and curriculum support staff.
* Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
* High level of professionalism and consideration for student wellbeing.
* Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.
