Role Context
The EYFS Teacher - Early Years role supports high-quality early learning at Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi. The teacher will plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons, organise classroom resources, support continuous provision, and create a warm learning environment where young children are motivated to explore, communicate, play, and progress.
This position requires a supportive educator who can teach across the Primary English National Curriculum, provide interventions for EAL students and children with additional learning needs, use Learning Ladders for assessment, and communicate regularly with parents and carers. The successful candidate will also contribute to school CPD, teaching and learning initiatives, curriculum action groups, safeguarding practice, and wider school life.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach early years learners through engaging lessons aligned with the Primary English National Curriculum.
* Plan, prepare, and present learning activities that meet the needs of the full ability range within the class.
* Organise the classroom, learning resources, displays, and continuous provision to create a positive early learning environment.
* Support children’s development through play-based learning, structured activities, creativity, and meaningful classroom routines.
* Provide targeted support and interventions for students with EAL or additional learning needs.
* Motivate pupils through enthusiastic, imaginative, and age-appropriate teaching.
* Evidence children’s work and learning in line with the school marking and feedback policy.
* Reflect on lessons, student progress, classroom provision, and curriculum planning to improve learning outcomes.
* Use Learning Ladders to assess and record pupil development.
* Take responsibility for the attainment and progress of the class and support children in reaching above expected expectations.
* Provide regular feedback to parents and carers during parent teacher conferences and school meetings.
* Work with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required.
* Share best practice and contribute to teaching and learning development across the school.
* Participate in school CPD, teaching initiatives, curriculum planning, and collaborative improvement activities.
* Use technology creatively to support lesson delivery and continuous provision.
* Follow the school behaviour management policy and promote TRACK Values across classroom routines.
* Maintain positive relationships with pupils and parents while managing behaviour in line with school procedures.
* Record behaviour or safeguarding concerns accurately through CPOMS where required.
* Support school events, outings, activities, curriculum action groups, and special events.
* Run a weekly ECA each term to enhance student provision beyond regular classroom learning.
* Uphold safeguarding, child protection, professional conduct, and all school policy expectations.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor degree in Education or bachelor degree in a related subject.
* PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Teaching experience within the English National Curriculum.
* Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum.
* Proven ability to teach across the age and ability range.
* Strong understanding of EYFS learning, early years classroom routines, and child-centred teaching.
* Ability to support EAL students and children with additional learning needs.
* Strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, carers, colleagues, and school leaders.
* Supportive and approachable team player who can collaborate effectively.
