Role Context
The Foundation Stage Coordinator will provide academic and operational direction across the early-years phase. The role will connect curriculum expectations with daily classroom practice and ensure that teachers have the planning support, resources, and guidance required to meet children\'s developmental needs.
Effective leadership will strengthen teaching consistency, assessment quality, parent communication, safeguarding practices, and children\'s readiness for progression into the next stage of learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate curriculum planning and classroom delivery across the Foundation Stage.
* Ensure learning experiences reflect EYFS principles and British curriculum expectations.
* Develop shared plans that establish progression across key areas of early childhood development.
* Guide teachers in using play, exploration, structured activities, and observation-based learning.
* Review lesson plans and learning environments to confirm that activities are purposeful and age-appropriate.
* Support teachers in adapting instruction for different developmental levels and learning needs.
The coordinator will remain closely connected to classroom practice through regular observations, collaborative planning, professional discussion, and review of children\'s learning evidence.
* Monitor assessment records and promote consistent observation and progress-tracking practices.
* Help teachers identify children who require additional challenge or support.
* Coordinate interventions with classroom teams, inclusion staff, and families when necessary.
* Mentor Foundation Stage teachers and teaching assistants.
* Organize professional learning sessions based on identified team priorities.
* Promote safe, welcoming, inclusive, and well-resourced classroom environments.
* Review the use of early-years materials and coordinate resource requirements.
* Strengthen communication with parents regarding learning, routines, and child development.
* Maintain curriculum documentation and evidence for academic reviews or inspections.
* Support transition arrangements between Foundation Stage classes and primary education.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant subject together with a Bachelor of Education qualification. The B.Ed credential is mandatory.
A minimum of 1 year of UAE experience in a comparable Foundation Stage teaching or coordination position is required.
The preferred candidate will demonstrate knowledge of early childhood development, EYFS curriculum delivery, teacher mentoring, observation-based assessment, and inclusive classroom practice. Strong organization, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Candidates must currently be physically present in the United Arab Emirates.
