Role Context
The FS Coordinator - Foundation Stage will support the academic and operational quality of the Foundation Stage department by coordinating curriculum delivery, monitoring classroom practices, guiding teachers, and helping maintain strong early years learning standards. The role contributes to student progress, parent confidence, teacher support, and effective implementation of British Curriculum expectations across the early years section.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate Foundation Stage academic planning, classroom routines, and curriculum delivery in line with British Curriculum expectations.
* Support teachers in preparing age-appropriate lesson plans, learning activities, assessments, and classroom resources.
* Monitor teaching quality, student engagement, and early years learning outcomes through regular classroom observation and feedback.
* Help maintain a safe, inclusive, stimulating, and child-centered learning environment for Foundation Stage students.
* Guide teachers in implementing play-based learning, literacy development, numeracy readiness, communication skills, and social-emotional growth.
* Review student progress records and support appropriate intervention plans where additional learning support is required.
* Work closely with school leadership to ensure Foundation Stage policies, procedures, and academic expectations are followed.
* Support communication between teachers, parents, and school administration regarding student learning and development.
* Assist with department meetings, teacher coordination, academic documentation, and school inspection readiness.
* Encourage professional collaboration among Foundation Stage teachers and classroom support staff.
* Maintain organized records related to planning, assessments, student progress, and departmental activities.
* Support school events, early years activities, parent engagement sessions, and learning showcases when required.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject is required.
* B.Ed qualification is mandatory.
* Minimum 1 year of UAE experience in a similar Foundation Stage or academic coordination role.
* Candidate should be physically present in the UAE.
* Previous experience in a British Curriculum school is strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of early years education, Foundation Stage learning needs, and classroom best practices.
* Ability to coordinate teachers, monitor learning quality, and support curriculum implementation.
* Good communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
* Confident working with young learners, parents, teachers, and school leadership.
* Professional approach to academic documentation, classroom observation, and teacher support.
* Ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive, and well-managed early years learning environment.
