Role Context

The Geography Teacher - Humanities role supports the continued growth of secondary provision at Muna British Academy as the school expands its year groups and strengthens its humanities curriculum. The teacher will deliver engaging lessons, prepare students for internal and external assessments, and help build a strong foundation for GCSE and A Level Geography pathways.

This position requires a teacher who can combine subject expertise with effective planning, assessment, differentiation, pastoral care, and digital learning strategies. The role also contributes to curriculum development, student wellbeing, enrichment activities, and the wider academic life of the school.

Key Responsibilities

* Teach humanities across Key Stage 3, including geography, history, and related subjects where required.
* Deliver specialist Geography teaching at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
* Prepare students for GCSE, IGCSE, and A Level Geography qualifications.
* Plan schemes of work aligned with the UK National Curriculum and relevant examination board requirements.
* Deliver well-structured lessons that build geographical knowledge, enquiry skills, critical thinking, and awareness of global issues.
* Develop students’ understanding of physical geography, human geography, environmental sustainability, global development, and spatial thinking.
* Promote geographical enquiry through research, investigation, data interpretation, and fieldwork where appropriate.
* Provide clear guidance and constructive feedback on coursework, assessments, extended writing, and examination preparation.
* Use assessment data to monitor progress, identify learning needs, and plan suitable support or additional challenge.
* Support students with POD, SEN, EAL, and gifted learner needs through inclusive and differentiated teaching.
* Create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources that support humanities and geography learning.
* Use digital technology and blended learning approaches to improve engagement and progress.
* Contribute to departmental planning, moderation, standardisation, curriculum development, and professional collaboration.
