Position Overview

English Teacher - Middle School in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates is a Primary-Secondary Education opportunity for a qualified educator who can strengthen literacy, communication, critical thinking, and academic confidence among Grades 6 and 7 students. Aldar Education is hiring an outstanding teacher for Seer Bani Yas Charter School for the 2026-2027 academic year to deliver engaging American Curriculum English lessons and support the progress of Emirati learners in an inclusive, high-expectation environment.

Role Context

The English Teacher will plan and deliver purposeful lessons that develop reading comprehension, writing accuracy, speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar, and literary analysis. The role requires responsive teaching, effective assessment, positive behaviour


management, and close collaboration with colleagues, parents, and specialist support teams.

Teaching at Seer Bani Yas Charter School also involves helping students who use English as an additional language access the curriculum successfully. The teacher will use assessment evidence to adapt instruction, provide intervention, and create learning experiences that motivate boys in the middle school phase to become confident and independent communicators.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver well-structured English lessons aligned with the American Curriculum and agreed school learning standards.
* Teach reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and literary interpretation through relevant and engaging activities.
* Plan learning sequences that address the different abilities, language levels, and educational needs represented within each class.
* Use imaginative teaching methods to motivate students and make English learning accessible and meaningful.
* Organise classroom resources, displays, texts, and digital materials to create a stimulating learning environment.
* Set clear lesson objectives and provide students with appropriate challenge, guidance, and opportunities for independent learning.
* Support learners who speak English as an additional language through scaffolding, modelling, targeted vocabulary instruction, and differentiated tasks.
* Take responsibility for the academic progress and development of assigned classes.
* Assess student work regularly and maintain accurate records in accordance with school procedures.
* Use Target Tracker and other assessment information to identify attainment gaps, adjust lesson planning, and provide focused intervention.
* Give constructive feedback that enables students to recognise strengths and improve specific aspects of their work.
* Reflect on lesson delivery, classroom provision, and student outcomes to strengthen future teaching practice.
* Communicate student achievement, progress, behaviour, and wellbeing to parents and carers through conferences and approved school channels.
* Work with families to promote student engagement, happiness, attendance, and academic success.
* Apply the school\'s behaviour policy consistently while maintaining respectful and supportive relationships with students.
* Establish high expectations for conduct, effort, self-control, responsibility, and independent learning.

* Follow all safeguarding, child-protection, health and safety, and professional conduct requirements.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor\'s degree in English, English Literature, or a directly related subject.
* PGCE or another recognised professional teaching qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of relevant classroom teaching experience.
* Previous experience teaching students for whom English is not their first language.
* Knowledge of middle school English teaching and American Curriculum expectations.
* Ability to deliver differentiated instruction across a broad range of academic and language abilities.
* Practical experience using assessment results to improve planning, provision, and intervention.
* Strong classroom leadership and behaviour-management skills.
* Passion for English teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
* High professional standards and consistent attention to student welfare and development.
* Recent and sustained involvement in extracurricular activities or school enrichment programmes.
* Clear written and verbal communication with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
