Role Context
The KG Teacher - Early Learning role supports high-quality kindergarten teaching at Abdulla Bin Otaiba Charter School in Abu Dhabi. The teacher will help young learners develop confidence, curiosity, communication skills, independence, and positive learning habits through structured classroom routines and engaging early learning activities.
This position requires a reflective and supportive educator who can plan lessons for the full ability range, use assessment information to improve progress, support children for whom English is not their first language, and contribute to a school culture built around collaboration, leadership, creativity, and child-centred learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring kindergarten lessons that support strong learning and development outcomes.
* Teach in an inclusive and age-appropriate way that encourages independence, confidence, and participation.
* Plan, prepare, and present learning sessions aligned with curriculum expectations and student needs.
* Organise classroom provision, displays, and learning resources to create a positive early learning environment.
* Use imaginative teaching approaches to motivate young learners and support curiosity, creativity, and communication.
* Observe, assess, and record children’s progress in line with school assessment procedures.
* Use Target Tracker and assessment data to guide planning, classroom provision, and student intervention.
* Reflect on lessons, progress, learning routines, and classroom practice to improve teaching quality.
* Work with fellow teachers to plan engaging learning experiences and support curriculum consistency.
* Cooperate with curriculum support staff and external professionals where required to support child development.
* Communicate clearly with parents and carers about student progress, achievement, and wellbeing.
* Support students for whom English is not their first language through clear instruction and inclusive practice.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and use suitable strategies to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
* Promote positive behaviour, self-control, independence, respect, and responsible classroom habits.
* Use CPOMS and school systems where appropriate to communicate student achievement, wellbeing, or safeguarding concerns.
* Participate in curriculum action groups, planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
* Support school activities, outings, evening events, weekend events, and wider community initiatives when required.
* Run a weekly ECA each term to enrich student learning beyond the classroom.
* Uphold safeguarding, child protection, professional conduct, and all school policy expectations.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Kindergarten Education or a related subject.
* PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience in KG.
* Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
* Clear understanding of early learning, classroom routines, assessment, and student progress support.
* Ability to teach young children with patience, creativity, structure, and care.
* Strong communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
* Collaborative approach with the flexibility to work across teams and support shared goals.
* Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
* High level of professionalism and consideration for student wellbeing.
* Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.
