Role Context
The Physical Education Coordinator will establish a unified direction for PE teaching and school sports programs. The position connects curriculum objectives with classroom instruction, assessment, teacher development, facilities management, events, and student participation.
Strong leadership will ensure that activities across different teams or sites maintain consistent standards of safety, educational value, inclusion, and operational organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise PE teachers and promote consistency in lesson quality and program delivery.
* Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum covering physical fitness, health education, movement, sporting skills, and student wellbeing.
* Monitor curriculum coverage and evaluate whether learning experiences meet agreed standards.
* Design assessment frameworks that measure student progress, physical development, participation, and skill acquisition.
* Observe lessons and provide practical feedback that helps teachers strengthen their methods.
* Mentor PE staff and coordinate professional development based on identified instructional needs.
The coordinator will translate school objectives into a balanced activity program that serves students with varied abilities, interests, and levels of physical confidence.
* Prepare sports schedules and coordinate tournaments, inter-school competitions, and extracurricular activities.
* Organize staffing, venues, equipment, permissions, transport, and safety arrangements for sporting events.
* Promote initiatives that encourage health, wellness, teamwork, and active lifestyles.
* Inspect sports facilities and equipment to ensure they remain safe, suitable, and properly maintained.
* Manage departmental budgets and prioritize procurement according to curriculum and activity requirements.
* Allocate equipment and resources responsibly across teams or sites.
* Collaborate with school leaders to connect Physical Education with the wider student experience.
* Build professional relationships with sports organizations, coaches, suppliers, and service providers.
* Review participation and performance information to identify opportunities for program improvement.
* Maintain curriculum documents, assessment records, event reports, inventories, and departmental plans.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a Master\'s degree in Physical Education or a closely related field.
A minimum of 5 years of Physical Education teaching experience is required, including at least 2 years in a UAE leadership or coordination position. Candidates should demonstrate practical experience managing staff, curriculum delivery, sporting events, and departmental resources.
The preferred professional will combine strong organization with visible leadership and the ability to manage multiple teams or sites. Excellent communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Knowledge of curriculum development, student-centered teaching, event operations, and physical activity assessment is required. First Aid or recognized sports-coaching certification will be an advantage.
