The successful candidate will also contribute to curriculum action groups, extra-curricular activities, parent communication, safeguarding practice, and the wider life of the school.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver Physical Education lessons that inspire students and support strong learning outcomes.
* Plan, prepare, and present PE sessions aligned with curriculum requirements and student needs.
* Support students in developing movement skills, fitness, coordination, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship.
* Organise sports spaces, learning resources, equipment, and displays to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
* Use enthusiastic and imaginative teaching approaches to motivate pupils and encourage active participation.
* Work alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons and support consistent curriculum delivery.
* Support the full ability range through differentiated instruction and inclusive physical education practice.
* Observe, assess, and record student progress in line with school assessment expectations.
* Use Target Tracker and assessment data to guide future planning, lesson provision, and intervention.
* Reflect on lesson delivery, student progress, learning routines, and curriculum practice to improve outcomes.
* Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff and external professionals where required.
* Communicate clearly with parents and carers about student achievement, progress, and wellbeing.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and manage classes using approaches that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
* Maintain positive relationships with students while promoting self-control, independence, respect, and responsible behaviour.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education or a related subject.
* PGCE or another recognised teacher qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience.
