Role Context
The Primary Class Teacher will provide continuity of high-quality classroom teaching at Mamoura British Academy while taking full responsibility for the attainment, progress, behavior, and day-to-day learning experience of an assigned class.
The position combines curriculum delivery with inclusive teaching, assessment, parental communication, safeguarding, professional collaboration, and extracurricular participation. The teacher will be expected to create a positive learning environment, use technology creatively, respond to individual learning needs, and contribute to wider teaching and learning development across the school.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach all areas of the Primary English National Curriculum to an appropriate standard.
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons that respond to the academic needs of the full ability range.
* Organize classroom spaces, resources, and displays to create an effective and stimulating learning environment.
* Take responsibility for the attainment and progress of an assigned class.
* Maintain high expectations so students are supported to achieve above expected outcomes where possible.
* Provide targeted support and intervention for students with EAL or additional learning needs.
* Adapt teaching methods and resources to accommodate different levels of ability and learning need.
* Work with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other specialists when required.
* Use educational technology confidently to support creative and innovative lesson delivery.
* Integrate digital tools into continuous provision and classroom learning where appropriate.
* Assess and record student development using Learning Ladders.
* Use assessment evidence to identify progress, learning gaps, and appropriate next steps.
* Provide regular and constructive feedback to parents and carers.
* Discuss student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other scheduled meetings.
* Follow Mamoura British Academy\'s behavior management procedures consistently.
* Promote the school\'s TRACK Values and maintain clear expectations for conduct and learning.
* Record and follow up behavior or safeguarding concerns accurately through CPOMS.
* Maintain appropriate safeguarding awareness in all interactions with students.
* Share effective classroom practice with colleagues and contribute to teaching improvement.
* Participate actively in school CPD and teaching and learning initiatives.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and school leaders.
* Contribute to curriculum action groups involving planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
* Assist with school events, educational outings, and community activities when required.
* Lead a weekly extracurricular activity during each term.
* Build positive professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
* Demonstrate resilience, sound judgment, and practical problem-solving when managing classroom and school priorities.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should hold a bachelor\'s degree in Education or a bachelor\'s degree in a relevant subject together with a PGCE or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
Previous teaching experience within the English National Curriculum is required. Applicants should demonstrate successful teaching across an appropriate primary age and ability range and understand the expectations of UK curriculum delivery.
Experience supporting EAL students and learners with additional educational needs will be valuable. The ability to use assessment tools, educational technology, and differentiated teaching strategies effectively is also important.
The successful teacher should be collaborative, approachable, and able to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and specialist professionals.
A commitment to continuing professional development is expected. Previous experience in more than one international school would be advantageous but is not essential.
