Role Context
The Primary English Teacher - British Curriculum will help young learners build strong language foundations through well-planned lessons, interactive classroom activities, and consistent academic support. The role contributes to student progress by improving literacy skills, encouraging confident communication, and delivering curriculum-aligned English instruction within a positive and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach English language lessons to primary students in line with British Curriculum standards and school learning objectives.
* Plan engaging lessons that develop reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and comprehension skills.
* Create a supportive classroom environment where students feel confident to participate, ask questions, and express ideas.
* Use age-appropriate teaching strategies, resources, stories, activities, and assessments to support different learning levels.
* Monitor student progress through classwork, assignments, reading tasks, writing exercises, tests, and regular feedback.
* Support literacy development by encouraging reading habits, creative writing, vocabulary growth, and clear communication.
* Maintain classroom routines, discipline, and student engagement through organized and respectful teaching practices.
* Prepare lesson plans, assessment records, student progress reports, and academic documentation accurately.
* Identify students who need additional support and provide suitable guidance to improve learning outcomes.
* Work with department heads, coordinators, and other teachers to support curriculum delivery and school standards.
* Communicate professionally with parents and colleagues regarding student progress when required.
* Participate in school activities, literacy events, assemblies, and academic initiatives that support student development.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in English is required.
* B.Ed qualification is required.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Primary English Teacher role in the home country or UAE is mandatory.
* Experience in British Curriculum schools will be preferred.
* Strong knowledge of English language teaching, primary literacy development, and classroom instruction.
* Ability to plan structured lessons and adapt teaching methods to meet different student needs.
* Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
* Organized, patient, and committed to creating a positive learning environment.
* Ability to assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
