Role Context
The Primary Maths Coordinator will serve as the operational link between the Head of Mathematics and primary teaching teams. The coordinator will help establish clear expectations for planning, teaching, assessment, intervention, and professional practice across the subject.

Key Responsibilities
* Guide Primary Maths Teachers on curriculum expectations, lesson structure, and effective instructional methods.
* Contribute to the development, implementation, review, and evaluation of the primary mathematics curriculum.
* Ensure subject planning and classroom delivery remain consistent with British curriculum standards.
* Conduct lesson observations and provide focused feedback linked to teaching quality and student learning.
* Review daily lesson plans and help teachers select strategies suited to specific learning objectives.
* Organize CPD sessions that address identified teaching needs and departmental priorities.
* Demonstrate effective practice through team teaching, model lessons, and collaborative planning.
The coordinator will work alongside teachers to resolve classroom challenges, strengthen subject knowledge, and develop a shared approach to mathematics instruction.
* Monitor the quality and consistency of curriculum coverage across primary year groups.
* Support teachers in using assessment information to identify gaps and plan suitable interventions.
* Assist the Head of Mathematics with departmental targets, improvement plans, and academic reviews.
* Help prepare curriculum evidence and teaching teams for DSIB inspection requirements.
* Track agreed actions following observations, reviews, or professional development activities.
