Role Context
The Primary Science Coordinator will guide the planning, delivery, and evaluation of Science across the primary phase. The role will help teachers translate curriculum objectives into clear lessons that develop curiosity, observation, experimentation, reasoning, and evidence-based understanding.
Alongside teaching responsibilities, the coordinator will review curriculum coverage, support professional practice, and use student performance information to identify priorities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate the delivery of the CBSE Science curriculum across primary grade levels.
* Develop curriculum maps, subject plans, assessment schedules, and shared teaching resources.
* Deliver engaging Science lessons using age-appropriate explanations, demonstrations, and practical activities.
* Ensure that curriculum content is sequenced logically and completed within the academic calendar.
* Guide teachers on instructional methods that develop scientific inquiry and conceptual understanding.
* Review lesson plans and support colleagues in selecting effective learning activities.
The coordinator will maintain an active connection with classroom practice by observing teaching, discussing challenges with colleagues, and demonstrating suitable strategies when support is required.
* Analyze assessment results to identify learning gaps and areas of strong performance.
* Help teaching teams plan interventions for students who require additional academic support.
* Promote consistent assessment standards and accurate student progress reporting.
* Monitor the safe preparation, use, and storage of Science resources and practical materials.
* Organize subject meetings, collaborative planning sessions, and professional learning activities.
* Contribute to school improvement plans and provide updates on Science performance to academic leaders.
* Encourage projects, exhibitions, competitions, and other activities that increase student interest in Science.
* Maintain relevant curriculum records, assessment evidence, and departmental documentation.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Science together with a Bachelor of Education qualification. The B.Ed credential is mandatory.
A minimum of 2 years of UAE experience in a similar teaching or Science coordination role is required. Candidates without UAE experience will not be considered.
Previous experience teaching primary grades within a CBSE curriculum school will be preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, curriculum planning ability, classroom confidence, and the capacity to guide teaching colleagues constructively.
