Role Context

The Primary Teacher - British Curriculum will take responsibility for the learning, progress, wellbeing, and classroom experience of a primary class. The role requires strong curriculum knowledge, effective lesson planning, positive behaviour management, accurate assessment, and meaningful communication with parents and colleagues. By delivering high-quality teaching, supporting students with EAL or additional learning needs, using technology creatively, and contributing to curriculum improvement, the teacher will help strengthen Mamoura British Academy’s learning culture and support student achievement across the primary phase.

Key Responsibilities

* Teach all areas of the Primary English National Curriculum through well-planned, engaging, and age-appropriate lessons.
* Create a positive classroom environment using effective organization, learning resources, visual displays, and routines that support student independence.
* Plan lessons that build on prior learning, challenge students appropriately, and support high expectations for attainment and progress.
* Use creative and innovative teaching strategies to make learning meaningful, accessible, and enjoyable for students.
* Provide support and targeted interventions for students with English as an additional language or additional learning needs.
* Work with specialists such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and inclusion teams when required.
* Take responsibility for the attainment and progress of the class, helping students achieve above expected expectations where possible.
* Use Learning Ladders and school assessment systems to record progress, identify next steps, and support accurate reporting.
* Provide regular and constructive feedback to parents and carers through parent teacher conferences, meetings, and school communication channels.
* Apply the school’s behaviour management policy consistently and promote TRACK Values to create a respectful and purposeful learning culture.
* Log and follow up behaviour or safeguarding concerns accurately through CPOMS and relevant school procedures.
* Use technology confidently to support innovative lesson delivery, continuous provision, student engagement, and classroom learning.
* Participate in school CPD, teaching and learning initiatives, and professional discussions that improve classroom practice.
* Share best practice with colleagues and contribute to curriculum development across the school.
* Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that area.
* Support school events, trips, outings, activities, and community initiatives, including events that may take place in evenings or at weekends.
* Run a weekly extracurricular activity each term to enhance student opportunities beyond the classroom.
* Build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, school leaders, and the wider school community.
* Maintain professional conduct, resilience, safeguarding awareness, and a strong commitment to the wellbeing of every child.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor Degree in Education or Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Teaching experience within the English National Curriculum.
* Experience teaching across the primary age and ability range with proven success.
* Strong understanding of UK National Curriculum expectations, primary pedagogy, assessment, differentiation, and classroom routines.
* Able to create a welcoming, organized, and stimulating classroom that supports high-quality learning.
* Confident supporting students with EAL, additional learning needs, and varied academic starting points.
* Skilled in using assessment data and Learning Ladders to monitor attainment, track progress, and plan next steps.
* Strong classroom management skills with a fair, consistent, and positive approach to behaviour.
* Able to use educational technology creatively to improve lesson delivery and student engagement.
* Supportive and approachable team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues and specialists.
* Clear communicator with students, parents, staff, and school leaders.
* Committed to developing positive relationships across the school community.
* Able to work under pressure, solve problems, remain resilient, and maintain high professional standards.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement in teaching practice.
* Experience working in more than one international school is desirable.
