Role Context

The Primary Teacher - Charter School will take responsibility for delivering purposeful classroom learning that inspires students and supports strong academic outcomes. The role involves planning lessons with colleagues, organizing learning resources, assessing student development, using Target Tracker data, and adjusting teaching to meet the needs of the full ability range. Through positive relationships, effective behaviour guidance, collaboration with parents, and involvement in extracurricular activities, the teacher will contribute to a progressive school environment aligned with student success and the UAE National Agenda for Emirati learners.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver inspiring lessons that help students succeed and achieve the best possible learning outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons aligned with curriculum expectations.
* Organize classroom provision, learning resources, and displays to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
* Plan, prepare, and present sessions that meet the needs of the full ability range within the class.
* Motivate pupils through enthusiastic, imaginative, and inclusive teaching approaches.
* Observe and assess children in line with school assessment procedures and expected learning standards.
* Reflect on classroom provision, lessons taught, student progress, and learning outcomes, then adjust planning and curriculum delivery where needed.
* Use Target Tracker to record student development, monitor progress, and support accurate assessment information.
* Use assessment data to influence future planning, classroom provision, interventions, and student support.
* Take responsibility for the progress of the class and provide timely support where students need additional guidance.
* Work with parents and caretakers to support student happiness, wellbeing, and academic outcomes.
* Provide feedback on student progress during parent teacher conferences and other school meetings.
* Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and support teams when required.
* Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff to strengthen student development and classroom inclusion.
* Embed Teacher and Learner DNA language, attitudes, and expectations across daily classroom practice.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and use appropriate strategies to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
* Maintain strong relationships with pupils while exercising appropriate authority and acting decisively when required.
* Promote high expectations for behaviour, self-control, independence, respect, and responsibility.
* Act as a positive role model by demonstrating the values, attitudes, and behaviour expected from students.
* Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
* Support school events, outings, activities, and community initiatives, including those held in the evening or at weekends.
* Communicate effectively with parents and caretakers about student achievement and wellbeing using school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate.
* Make a positive contribution to the wider life, values, and ethos of the school.
* Run a weekly extracurricular activity each term to enrich student learning beyond the classroom.
* Carry out duties as directed and follow school policies related to safeguarding, professional conduct, equality, and student welfare.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or another recognized teaching qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience.
* Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
* Clear understanding of curriculum planning, classroom teaching, assessment, student progress, and differentiated learning.
* Able to create engaging lessons that support varied abilities, learning needs, and levels of student confidence.
* Confident using Target Tracker and assessment data to guide planning, intervention, and progress monitoring.
* Strong communication skills with students, parents, caretakers, colleagues, and school leaders.
* Supportive team player who can work flexibly with teachers, curriculum support staff, and specialist professionals.
* Passion for teaching and a clear commitment to educating the whole child.
* High level of professionalism with genuine care for the wellbeing, safety, and development of children.
* Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities or wider school life.
* Respectful toward all members of the school community regardless of role, gender, age, nationality, or background.
