Role
The Primary Teacher - KS1 KS2 will support young learners by creating engaging lessons, building strong foundations in core subjects, and helping students develop confidence, curiosity, independence, and positive learning habits. Based at GEMS Founders School - Al Mizhar, the teacher will contribute to a dynamic British Schools Overseas accredited environment where students and staff are encouraged to Grow, Flourish, and embody Mindfulness. The role also supports wider school life through extra-curricular activities, community events, and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach primary students across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 using the National Curriculum for England.
* Plan and deliver creative lessons that support progress in English, mathematics, science, humanities, and wider primary learning areas.
* Build a positive classroom culture where students feel safe, motivated, included, and ready to participate.
* Use effective assessment methods to track student progress, identify learning needs, and adapt teaching strategies.
* Differentiate learning activities to support varied abilities, learning styles, and individual student development.
* Promote strong literacy, numeracy, communication, collaboration, independence, and critical thinking skills.
* Encourage mindfulness, resilience, curiosity, kindness, and responsible behaviour within daily classroom routines.
* Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour, presentation, and student engagement.
* Work closely with colleagues to support curriculum planning, resource development, moderation, and year group consistency.
* Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress, wellbeing, achievements, and areas for improvement.
* Contribute to extra-curricular programmes, school events, community initiatives, assemblies, and enrichment activities.
* Support students during transitions, class routines, pastoral matters, and wider personal development.
* Take part in professional development opportunities and use reflective practice to improve classroom outcomes.
* Model the school values of Grow, Flourish, and Mindfulness through professional conduct and daily teaching practice.
* Follow safeguarding requirements and promote the welfare, protection, and wellbeing of all students.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor of Education in Primary Education is preferred.
* Relevant degree with PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent teaching qualification is acceptable.
* Experience teaching Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 within the National Curriculum for England.
* Early Career Teachers with strong training, enthusiasm, and readiness for international teaching may be considered.
* Strong understanding of primary curriculum planning, assessment, differentiation, and child development.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding learning and teaching in a primary classroom.
* Creative and enthusiastic approach to classroom practice and wider school life.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working closely with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
* Strong classroom management skills with a warm, structured, and motivating teaching style.
* Passion for continuous improvement, professional learning, and student achievement.
* Ability to contribute positively to extra-curricular activities, school culture, and community-based events.
