Role Context
The Security Guard - School Safety will help protect students, staff, visitors, and school property by maintaining controlled access, monitoring daily movement, and responding professionally to routine safety matters. The role supports the school’s daily operations by ensuring that security procedures are followed, visitors are guided correctly, and the campus remains safe during school hours, events, arrivals, and dismissals.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor school entry and exit points to ensure safe and controlled access for students, staff, parents, and visitors.
* Greet visitors professionally and guide them according to school security and reception procedures.
* Check visitor details, support sign-in processes, and help maintain accurate visitor movement records.
* Patrol assigned school areas to identify safety concerns, unauthorized access, or unusual activity.
* Support student safety during arrival, dismissal, break times, and school events.
* Coordinate with school administration, reception, and facility teams on daily security matters.
* Respond calmly and promptly to incidents, emergencies, or safety-related instructions.
* Ensure school gates, access points, and assigned security posts are monitored properly.
* Help maintain order in busy areas while communicating respectfully with students, parents, and staff.
* Report maintenance, safety, or security concerns to the appropriate school team.
* Follow school policies, emergency procedures, and security guidelines at all times.
* Maintain a professional appearance, punctuality, and disciplined conduct throughout duty hours.
Ideal Profile
* Previous experience as a security guard is preferred.
* SIRA training or SIRA certification will be an advantage.
* Immediate availability to join is preferred.
* Ability to work full-time in a permanent school security role.
* Strong observation skills and awareness of safety procedures.
* Professional, polite, and calm approach when dealing with students, parents, staff, and visitors.
* Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
* Physically fit and able to stand, patrol, and manage assigned security posts during duty hours.
* Reliable, punctual, disciplined, and trustworthy.
* Experience in a school, residential community, mall, hospital, or similar public-facing security environment will be helpful.
