Role Context
The SEN Teacher will ensure that inclusion commitments are reflected in classroom planning, assessment, intervention, and student participation across different phases of the school. Each learner will receive support based on documented abilities, challenges, and developmental priorities.
The role combines direct teaching with case management and staff guidance. Accurate assessment, individualized planning, progress evidence, and consistent communication will be essential for improving each student\'s learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply the objectives of the school\'s Inclusion Policy Framework across relevant phases and learning environments.
* Assess students\' academic, behavioral, communication, and developmental skills to determine support needs.
* Prepare teaching plans and interventions based on assessment findings and individual learning priorities.
* Adapt curriculum content, classroom activities, resources, and assessments to make learning accessible.
* Record learning data for Students of Determination and use evidence to monitor progress over time.
* Create Individual Education Plans and Behavior Plans in collaboration with senior leaders, the School Counselor, classroom teachers, and parents.
* Implement agreed plans consistently and evaluate whether strategies are producing the intended outcomes.
Support sessions will be planned around each student\'s abilities and may involve individual teaching, small-group work, or guided participation within mainstream lessons.
* Assign suitable activities that provide appropriate challenge without excluding students from shared learning.
* Review student performance and revise targets, accommodations, or interventions when necessary.
* Discuss progress with parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and other relevant professionals.
* Mentor learning support assistants working with students who have additional educational needs.
* Guide staff on appropriate instructional, behavioral, and communication strategies.
* Maintain confidential records covering assessments, plans, interventions, meetings, and progress reviews.
* Promote student independence, confidence, participation, and respectful inclusion throughout school life.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Special Education or a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Psychology. Relevant teaching experience supporting students with special educational needs is required.
Previous experience in an inclusive school setting will be preferred. Candidates should be confident developing Individual Education Plans, adapting curriculum expectations, evaluating progress, and collaborating with multidisciplinary school teams.
Applicants must already be present in the United Arab Emirates and available to join immediately. Candidates holding an own, spouse-sponsored, or dependent UAE visa will receive preference.
