The Special Educator will help students access classroom learning through appropriate assessment, personalized strategies, and structured intervention. Support may be provided individually, in small groups, or within mainstream lessons according to each student\'s identified needs.
The position contributes to a school culture where students receive fair opportunities to learn, communicate, build confidence, and participate meaningfully in academic and social activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Observe and assess students to identify learning strengths, challenges, and support priorities.
* Develop individualized learning goals and intervention strategies based on documented needs.
* Deliver targeted individual and small-group sessions that reinforce classroom learning.
* Adapt activities, instructions, resources, and assessment methods for students requiring additional support.
* Work with classroom teachers to integrate suitable accommodations into daily lessons.
* Monitor student progress and revise intervention approaches when outcomes do not meet expectations.
Clear documentation will be maintained for assessments, learning targets, support sessions, progress reviews, and communication with relevant stakeholders.
* Provide teachers with practical guidance on differentiation and inclusive classroom methods.
* Communicate sensitively with parents regarding student needs, progress, and recommended support.
* Encourage independence, self-confidence, appropriate behavior, and positive peer interaction.
* Use visual aids, assistive resources, and structured learning techniques where appropriate.
* Participate in student review meetings and contribute evidence-based observations.
* Follow school safeguarding, confidentiality, inclusion, and student welfare procedures.
* Coordinate with internal support teams and external specialists when additional expertise is required.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Special Education together with a Bachelor of Education qualification. Relevant teaching experience gained within the UAE is required.
The preferred candidate will understand British curriculum classroom expectations and demonstrate patience, professional judgment, accurate observation, and the ability to respond to varied learning needs.
