Role Context
The Teacher - ICT will support student achievement by planning and delivering technology-focused lessons that encourage curiosity, digital confidence, and practical understanding of ICT concepts. The role requires strong classroom teaching, collaboration with colleagues, assessment using school systems, communication with parents, and support for students with different learning needs. By embedding positive learner attitudes, using data to guide instruction, and contributing to wider school life, the teacher will help strengthen digital education and student readiness at Al Ghad Charter School.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver ICT lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve strong learning outcomes.
* Plan engaging technology-based sessions that meet curriculum requirements and support the full ability range within the class.
* Organize classroom provision, digital learning resources, displays, and activities to create a positive and interactive learning environment.
* Motivate pupils through enthusiastic, imaginative, and practical teaching that makes technology learning accessible.
* Support students in developing digital literacy, safe technology habits, logical thinking, creativity, and confidence using ICT tools.
* Work alongside fellow teachers to plan lessons, share resources, and align teaching with curriculum expectations.
* Observe and assess students in line with school assessment procedures and expected progress standards.
* Use Target Tracker to record student development, monitor progress, and support accurate assessment information.
* Use assessment data to influence future planning, classroom provision, targeted support, and intervention.
* Reflect on lessons, learning resources, progress made, and classroom practice, then adjust planning and delivery when needed.
* Take responsibility for class progress and ensure students are supported academically, socially, and personally.
* Work with parents and caretakers to support student happiness, wellbeing, and academic achievement.
* Provide feedback to parents and caretakers on student progress during parent teacher conferences and other meetings.
* Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, or inclusion teams when required.
* Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff to support children’s development and classroom inclusion.
* Embed Teacher and Learner DNA language, expectations, and attitudes throughout the curriculum.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and manage classes using approaches that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
* Maintain positive relationships with students while exercising appropriate authority within the school’s behaviour framework.
* Act as a positive role model by demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviour expected from pupils.
* Promote high expectations for behaviour, self-control, independence, respect, and responsible digital conduct.
* Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team.
* Support school events, outings, activities, and community initiatives, including events that may take place in the evening or at weekends.
* Communicate effectively with parents and caretakers regarding student achievement and wellbeing using school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate.
* Make a positive contribution to the wider life, values, and ethos of the school.
* Run a weekly extracurricular activity each term to enhance student opportunities beyond the classroom.
* Carry out duties as directed and follow school policies related to safeguarding, equality, professional conduct, and student welfare.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or another recognized teaching qualification.
* Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience.
* Previous ICT teaching experience in an American Curriculum or international school environment will be an advantage.
* Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
* Clear understanding of curriculum planning, classroom teaching, student assessment, differentiated learning, and progress tracking.
* Able to create engaging ICT lessons that support varied abilities, confidence levels, and learning needs.
* Confident using Target Tracker and assessment data to guide planning, intervention, and student support.
* Strong classroom management skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students.
* Comfortable using digital tools, learning resources, and technology-based activities to improve student engagement.
* Passion for teaching and a strong commitment to educating the whole child.
* High level of professionalism with genuine care for student wellbeing, safety, and development.
* Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities or wider school life.
* Respectful toward all members of the school community regardless of role, gender, age, nationality, or background.
* Positive, resilient, and solution-focused approach to working life.
