Position Overview

Specialist - Verification and Technical Training in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates is a Professional Training & Coaching opportunity responsible for assuring the quality and consistency of vocational assessment decisions while delivering technical training for ADNOC Group employees. The role independently verifies assessor decisions against NQC, OPITO and internal quality requirements, develops learning resources, supports assessor qualification and drives continuous improvement across competency-based training and assessment programs.

Role Context

The Specialist serves as an independent quality checkpoint within technical competency development, ensuring that assessment decisions are valid, consistent and supported by appropriate evidence. Alongside internal verification responsibilities, the position delivers discipline-specific technical training and develops assessors capable of evaluating workforce competence to recognized standards. The role connects vocational learning, industrial expertise and quality assurance to strengthen workforce capability across ADNOC Group.

Key Responsibilities

* Independently verify assessment decisions made by Assessors across assigned ATA programs.
* Confirm that assessment practices comply with established internal quality assurance systems and external verification requirements.
* Review assessment evidence and determine whether competency decisions are consistent, valid and appropriately documented.
* Provide constructive feedback to Assessors regarding their assessment judgments and supporting evidence.
* Maintain detailed knowledge of the occupational Standards and assessment requirements assigned for verification.
* Conduct internal verification activities in accordance with applicable verification body requirements.
* Perform interim verification of Assessors, Candidates and assessment evidence where required.
* Advise Assessors on assessment methodology, evidence requirements and quality expectations.
* Maintain accurate records of verification activities in accordance with approved procedures.
* Participate in standardization exercises to maintain consistent assessment decisions across Assessors and programs.
* Support internal quality systems and ensure corrective actions arising from audits are implemented within agreed timelines.
* Monitor assessment practices for recurring quality issues and recommend practical corrective measures.
* Strengthen quality control and continuous improvement across competency assessment processes.
* Train ADNOC Group employees to become qualified Assessors.
* Support development of assessor capability through coaching, feedback and structured technical guidance.
* Align ADNOC skill profiles with relevant NQC portfolios and competency requirements.
* Review competency standards and ensure assessment approaches remain aligned with required occupational outcomes.
* Deliver discipline-specific technical training and short courses according to operational requirements.
* Develop new technical training materials based on defined learning objectives.
* Review and update existing course content, instructional materials and learning resources.
* Ensure technical courses are delivered according to applicable technical requirements and safety precautions.
* Facilitate practical and classroom-based learning appropriate to vocational and industrial training environments.
* Maintain current technical knowledge through regular training, industry updates and Continuous Professional Development activities.
* Support technical training and verification requirements at ADNOC sites when assigned.
* Participate in internal and external events promoting available technical training programs.
* Prepare materials that communicate current training capabilities and course offerings.
* Identify opportunities to expand training services through new technical programs and initiatives.
* Contribute to business cases, mapping exercises and financial projections for proposed training activities.
* Liaise with ADNOC headquarters and Group Company training entities to identify competency gaps.
* Recommend appropriate training and assessment solutions while considering individual site requirements.
* Coordinate with external organizations when specialist training or verification services are required.
* Contribute to departmental operational planning in alignment with broader People Development objectives.
* Support development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems and standards governing training and assessment.
* Contribute to departmental KPIs and performance management requirements.
* Support Personal Development Plans, succession planning and talent pipeline initiatives.
* Contribute to workforce capability development with particular attention to UAE National development objectives.
* Identify risks affecting assessment, verification or training activities and support appropriate mitigation measures.
* Maintain compliance with business ethics, organizational Code of Conduct and HSE requirements.
* Promote innovation and process improvements across verification and technical training activities.
* Prepare accurate MIS information, progress updates and management reports.

Ideal Profile

* BEng or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
* Internationally recognized Verifier and Assessor qualification.
* Certified international assessor and verifier credentials are required.
* Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience within the Oil and Gas or petrochemical industry.
* Approximately 6 years of assessment, verification and technical training experience within a vocational training environment.
* Vocational education experience is advantageous.
* Strong practical understanding of competency-based assessment and internal verification.
* Experience working with recognized occupational and vocational standards.
* Knowledge of NQC requirements and competency portfolio structures.
* Familiarity with OPITO standards and quality expectations is valuable.
* Proven ability to evaluate assessment evidence independently and objectively.
* Experience coaching Assessors and improving assessment quality.
* Ability to conduct standardization activities across assessment teams.
* Strong knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes.
* Experience responding to internal audit findings and implementing corrective actions.
* Strong technical training delivery and workshop facilitation capability.
* Experience designing and updating instructional materials and learning resources.
* Ability to translate technical expertise into structured competency development programs.
* Strong understanding of industrial HSE requirements applicable to technical training.
* Commitment to maintaining technical currency through Continuous Professional Development.
* High level of English proficiency.
