Job Overview
The Hoist Engineer plays a vital role in managing all phases of hoisting operations, from design planning and system configuration to routine inspection and troubleshooting. This position ensures the smooth and secure movement of materials and personnel within high-rise construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Design hoisting systems for various project sites, considering load, lift height, frequency, and safety factors
* Supervise installation and setup of cranes, hoists, and other lifting machinery
* Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment performance and safety
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues in hoisting systems
* Ensure compliance with UAE safety codes, technical standards, and internal protocols
* Prepare technical documentation and inspection reports for regulatory and project records
* Collaborate with construction managers, site engineers, and safety officers to coordinate hoisting logistics
* Train relevant site personnel on safe hoist operation and emergency procedures
Job Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent field)
* Minimum 5 years of experience in hoisting equipment within the construction industry
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, control panels, load dynamics, and lifting operations
* Familiarity with UAE safety standards and DM/DDA compliance regulations
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and lifting plans
* Proficiency in using diagnostic and calibration tools for hoisting machinery
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
