This role is critical in bridging design, procurement, and quantity surveying functions to ensure material choices are cost-effective, technically compliant, and aligned with project timelines. You will play a key role in project estimations, providing technical insights, material alternatives, and value engineering support to optimize construction strategies across our prestigious developments.

Job Overview
As a Materials Engineer, your primary responsibility is to evaluate material specifications, coordinate with procurement, and support cost estimations with a technical perspective. You will assess material take-offs, validate design compliance, suggest viable alternatives, and contribute
to data-driven decision-making across the pre-construction lifecycle. Your expertise will help reduce material-related risks and enhance project value through cost- and time-efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a key liaison between design, quantity surveying, and procurement teams during estimation phases
* Review and validate technical specifications of materials proposed in project designs
* Assist in validating quantities, specifications, and constructability of materials for accurate estimation
* Propose alternative materials that offer cost, time, or sustainability advantages
* Coordinate with suppliers to confirm material pricing, lead times, and risk factors
* Maintain a robust materials database with updated benchmarks, specifications, and vendor references
* Support technical evaluations and prequalification of vendors and material suppliers
* Document material-related assumptions and value engineering proposals for each project tender
Job Requirements
* Bachelor\'s Degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
* 6–7 years of experience in a design-build, contracting, or consultancy environment
* Strong understanding of construction materials, sourcing logistics, and technical compliance
* Familiarity with estimation software such as Candy, CostX
* Working knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, Revit) and BIM tools is a plus
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
