Draughtsman - Solar Energy Design - Design / Creative ServicesRole Summary
We are hiring a Draughtsman with expertise in solar energy systems to support the design and drafting of commercial and residential photovoltaic (PV) installations. This role involves producing precise CAD drawings, collaborating with engineers and project teams, and ensuring all technical documentation meets industry standards and local compliance codes.

Position Overview
As a Draughtsman in our solar energy division, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and specifications for solar power systems. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to translate concepts into precise plans that support successful project execution. Ideal for detail-oriented CAD
professionals passionate about sustainable energy and solar design.
Core Duties
* Prepare accurate and detailed 2D/3D drawings for solar PV systems, including site layouts, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and convert them into technical documents
* Ensure all drawings comply with local and international codes such as NEC, IEC, and DEWA standards
* Maintain document control procedures and revision logs throughout project lifecycle
* Optimize designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and ease of implementation
* Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies, working with engineers to maintain accuracy
* Stay current with solar energy advancements and design best practices
* Assist in preparing as-built documentation and technical records post-installation
Candidate Requirements
* High school diploma required; diploma or certification in Drafting, Engineering, or related field preferred
* 1–3 years of hands-on experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) in solar, electrical, or construction projects
* Strong understanding of PV systems, inverters, mounting structures, and grid-tie configurations
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, architectural layouts, and MEP schematics
* Knowledge of local authority regulations and design documentation standards in UAE
* Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
* Strong communication and team collaboration skills
* Familiarity with project workflows in renewable energy or engineering firms is an advantage
