Role Context

This position manages the daily flow of e-commerce orders from release through picking, marshalling, packing and dispatch. The Fulfillment Manager will


coordinate dark stores, retail locations, drivers and third-party logistics providers to ensure that customers receive complete orders on time and in suitable condition. Decisions concerning labor, vehicles, inventory and process controls directly influence customer satisfaction, productivity and fulfillment cost.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage daily e-commerce picking, marshalling, packing and dispatch activities.
* Coordinate last-mile delivery operations from order readiness through customer receipt.
* Assign priorities based on order volume, delivery windows and available capacity.
* Lead fulfillment employees and maintain clear shift responsibilities.
* Manage third-party logistics providers against agreed service requirements.
* Monitor productivity, picking rates, order cycle time and dispatch performance.
* Investigate missed targets and introduce corrective operational actions.
* Improve workflows to increase throughput without weakening accuracy or product quality.
* Coordinate with stores and dark-store teams to maintain stock availability.
* Ensure fulfillment areas are organized for safe and efficient order preparation.
* Escalate inventory discrepancies and recurring out-of-stock issues.
* Work with commercial and technology teams to resolve system or product-availability problems.
* Apply quality checks before orders are released for delivery.
* Maintain suitable packing standards for ambient, chilled and frozen products.
* Enforce cold-chain requirements throughout preparation and dispatch.
* Monitor order accuracy, freshness, substitutions and missing-item performance.
* Manage customer-service coordination for delayed, incomplete or damaged orders.
* Oversee returns, refunds and related operational documentation.
* Maintain appropriate controls for cash-on-delivery transactions.
* Allocate drivers, vehicles and workforce according to forecast demand.
* Adjust resource plans during demand peaks and unexpected operational disruption.
* Track vehicle and delivery capacity to prevent avoidable dispatch delays.
* Control fulfillment expenditure and identify sustainable cost reductions.
* Prepare operational reports and communicate performance to stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, safety practices and documented procedures.
* Coach team members and promote accountability for service and productivity targets.

Ideal Profile

Applicants should hold a bachelor\'s degree in e-commerce, business administration, supply chain or a related discipline. The required background includes five to seven years of experience in e-commerce fulfillment, supply chain, logistics or last-mile delivery operations.

Candidates should have successfully managed fulfillment teams and external logistics providers. Experience with grocery e-commerce, dark stores, perishable inventory or temperature-controlled delivery will be particularly relevant. The role requires a manager who can analyze performance, organize resources and make timely operational decisions under pressure.
