Role Context
The Graphic Designer - Store Communication will help strengthen the IKEA customer journey by creating and maintaining effective in-store graphic communication. The role connects design, sales, logistics, and commercial activities to ensure that signage, posters, notice boards, product communication, and campaign graphics are accurate, visually strong, and aligned with IKEA standards. By keeping displays clear and engaging, the position contributes to better customer understanding, improved store navigation, and stronger retail performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure correct use of the IKEA trade name, word mark, and visual identity in line with the IKEA Trademark Manual and company policy.
* Plan and execute high-quality in-store graphic solutions that highlight IKEA product features, benefits, and home furnishing ideas.
* Create graphic communication for sales areas, support areas, staff areas, signage, posters, notice boards, and other store communication points.
* Conduct regular daily and weekly checks to confirm that graphic displays are accurate, properly translated, updated, and aligned with IKEA standards.
* Work closely with sales and in-store logistics teams to plan graphic solutions that support store sales targets and the commercial activity calendar.
* Implement updates and changes to graphic communication based on instructions from the Graphic Communication Leader.
* Support store activities, seasonal campaigns, product launches, and commercial priorities with clear and effective visual communication.
* Use IKEA manuals, guidelines, ideas, and graphic toolboxes to maintain high standards and improve technical competence.
* Monitor competitor activities, local retail trends, customer communication styles, and market developments to improve in-store awareness.
* Maintain high standards for graphic execution, installation quality, brand consistency, and customer readability across the store.
* Use sign-making equipment and Macintosh graphic software to produce accurate and professional store communication materials.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate should have strong IKEA store communication experience, practical graphic production skills, and a good understanding of how design supports customer behavior and retail sales. The role requires creativity, accuracy, teamwork, personal accountability, and the ability to deliver visual communication that is both brand-aligned and commercially effective.
* Degree or Diploma in Interior Designing, Architecture, Graphic Design, or a related creative discipline.
* Minimum 5+ years of experience within the Communication and Interior Design department of IKEA stores.
* Strong experience using Macintosh graphic software.
* Skilled in using sign-making equipment and graphic production tools.
* Good understanding of IKEA manuals, guidelines, concepts, and graphic communication toolbox.
* Strong customer focus with the ability to maintain high store presentation standards.
* Ability to work independently while supporting team goals and commercial priorities.
