Position Overview
GMG is seeking a dynamic and analytical Merchandising Executive to support its Sports division in Dubai. The role focuses on managing product assortments, optimizing inventory, and executing merchandising strategies that align with market trends and customer expectations. Working closely with the buying, planning, and supply chain teams, the Merchandising Executive will ensure timely product availability, effective promotions, and profitable stock management in line with GMG’s retail goals.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage and curate product assortments based on market demand, seasonal trends, and consumer insights to maximize profitability.
* Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations and ensure timely replenishment.
* Collaborate with buying and planning teams to align product selections and delivery timelines with sales and marketing schedules.
* Evaluate sales performance data to identify bestsellers, underperforming products, and opportunities for optimization.
* Prepare detailed sales, stock, and margin reports using ERP and analytics tools for management review.
* Liaise with suppliers and vendors to monitor delivery timelines, resolve discrepancies, and negotiate terms when required.
* Partner with marketing teams to support seasonal campaigns, in-store promotions, and product launches to enhance visibility.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline merchandising workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
* Maintain adherence to brand standards in all merchandising activities, ensuring a consistent and appealing customer experience.
* Support planning of markdowns and promotional activities to manage stock movement and improve sell-through.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
* 3–6 years of merchandising or buying experience in the retail or sports industry.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills with experience in inventory analysis and retail performance reporting.
* Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills for cross-functional coordination.
* Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
* Knowledge of sports, lifestyle, or apparel retail trends is an advantage.
