Amazon is hiring a detail-focused quality professional to inspect inbound products, improve vendor compliance, protect food quality standards, reduce damage and expiry, and strengthen customer satisfaction across fast grocery operations.

Role Context
Fresh food quality is a major factor in customer trust within ultra-fast grocery delivery. This position will help ensure that meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, eggs, and other perishables consistently meet Amazon quality expectations from inbound receipt through picking, packing, and final order preparation.
The Quality Specialist will work closely with vendors, store teams, instock managers, vendor managers, fulfillment partners, and operations leaders to identify quality failures early, reduce avoidable waste, improve buying efficiency, and strengthen execution of food safety and packaging standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect the quality and condition of meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, eggs, and other perishable products during inbound receiving.
* Conduct quality checks at Amazon stores, hubs, and vendor locations against defined product specifications.
* Reject damaged, defective, spoiled, or non-compliant items and coordinate their return to the relevant vendor.
* Maintain accurate rejection records by item, vendor, quantity, and quality issue.
* Audit product handling during picking and packing to confirm that fresh items are managed according to established quality procedures.
* Monitor packaging methods and confirm that products are packed in a way that protects freshness, condition, and presentation.
* Carry out daily bin audits and identify storage, handling, cleanliness, or quality concerns.
* Prepare daily and weekly quality reports for operational and commercial stakeholders.
* Train store and hub associates on fresh food quality standards, SOPs, product handling, and packaging practices.
* Work with vendors to improve consistency in incoming product quality and reduce repeated defects.
* Investigate quality trends that contribute to customer complaints, damaged products, or premature expiry.
* Collaborate with instock teams to improve buying decisions and reduce losses caused by poor-quality fresh inventory.
* Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide practical quality observations from daily operations.
* Recommend process changes that improve quality control, inspection efficiency, reporting accuracy, and operational consistency.
* Support automation and standardization initiatives that make recurring quality checks more reliable and scalable.
* Maintain food safety expectations during fast-paced grocery operations without compromising productivity.
* Work occasional weekends when operational requirements demand it, while remaining within the defined working week.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent professional experience with strong written and verbal communication ability.
* Practical understanding of fresh food quality standards covering fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, eggs, and other perishables.
* HACCP knowledge and relevant food safety certification.
* PIC 3 Person In Charge certification recognized by Dubai Municipality.
* Familiarity with ISO 22000 and Good Manufacturing Practices.
* Knowledge of fruit and vegetable quality specifications and common defects affecting fresh produce.
* Familiarity with Dubai\'s fresh produce supply environment, including Al Aweer Central Fruit and Vegetable Market.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
* Able to inspect products carefully and document findings with accuracy.
* Comfortable working directly with vendors, store associates, operations teams, and senior stakeholders.
* Able to manage multiple operational priorities while maintaining deadlines and quality standards.
