The Sales Assistant - Market Hall helps keep the IKEA store welcoming, organized, and commercially effective by supporting daily sales floor activities and customer service. The role contributes to sales performance, stock accuracy, store cleanliness, product visibility, and customer satisfaction by ensuring shoppers receive helpful information and a positive first impression from the moment they enter the area.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcome customers warmly and create a positive first impression through friendly service and professional store-floor behavior.
* Provide customers with current, clear, and relevant product information to support their shopping decisions.
* Help generate sales in the market hall area by supporting customers, understanding their needs, and guiding them to suitable products.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive retail environment in line with store standards and brand expectations.
* Arrange products, replenish displays, support product presentation, and ensure merchandise is easy for customers to view and access.
* Meet or exceed weekly sales targets through active customer engagement and strong product awareness.
* Participate in market hall inventories and support accurate stock counting when required.
* Attend store meetings, team briefings, and related functions to stay aligned with daily priorities and operational updates.
* Follow assigned duties from the shopkeeper and complete store-floor tasks in a timely and responsible manner.
* Follow IKEA policies, procedures, values, dress code, and customer service standards at all times.
* Work flexibly with peers and management to support smooth store operations during busy periods.
* Maintain punctuality and follow the designated work schedule consistently.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate should have retail sales experience, strong customer service skills, and the physical ability to work actively on the sales floor.
