Role Context
The Assistant Store Supervisor - tMart Operations will help manage daily store activity during assigned shifts, covering staff coordination, stock availability, receiving, replenishment, inventory counts, order fulfillment, shrinkage control, and service standards. The position plays an important role in keeping tMart operations smooth by supporting the Store Supervisor, maintaining accurate stock movement, improving picker productivity, and ensuring customer orders are prepared correctly within operational timelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Support end-to-end store operations during assigned shifts, including staff coordination, ordering, receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shift handover.
* Assist the Store Supervisor with day-to-day store management, shift planning, people coordination, routine maintenance follow-up, and operational readiness.
* Help ensure proper stock availability across store categories by monitoring inventory, physical stock levels, and replenishment requirements.
* Assist with ordering and store replenishment activities to reduce out-of-stock and overstock situations.
* Conduct stock takes, cycle counts, and inventory checks according to agreed schedules and store procedures.
* Support effective stock control practices by keeping inventory records accurate and reporting stock gaps, shrinkage, or movement issues.
* Supervise inbound receiving during the shift and ensure supplier orders are checked, recorded, and handled according to policies and SOPs.
* Oversee outbound order fulfillment during the shift to ensure customer orders are picked, packed, checked, and prepared accurately.
* Monitor picking and packing quality to improve order accuracy, speed, and overall fulfillment performance.
* Help the Store Supervisor review fulfillment processes and suggest practical improvements that increase productivity and reduce errors.
* Ensure actions related to store shrinkage are implemented and followed during the shift.
* Coordinate with store team members to maintain service-level standards and efficient use of available resources.
* Support the implementation of hygiene, sanitation, security, and safety standards across the store.
* Maintain a high level of internal and external customer service during daily store operations.
* Report store issues, operational delays, maintenance concerns, stock problems, and team challenges to the Store Supervisor.
* Discuss recurring problems with the Store Supervisor and propose workable solutions to improve shift performance.
* Ensure tools, equipment, storage areas, and material handling practices are used safely and properly.
* Support a positive team environment by guiding staff, encouraging ownership, and helping new team members follow store processes.
Ideal Profile
* 3-5 years of experience in supermarket operations, restaurant operations, grocery fulfillment, retail store operations, or similar fast-paced service environments.
* Practical understanding of stock replenishment, inbound receiving, inventory checks, order picking, packing, and store shift operations.
* Experience supporting or supervising store teams during busy operational periods is preferred.
* Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-moving grocery or food service environment.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate clearly with store staff, supervisors, suppliers, and internal teams.
* Good attention to detail when checking stock, receiving orders, preparing customer orders, and updating records.
