Role Context
The Assistant Project Manager will support the planning and execution of ICT and telecommunications workstreams that form a critical part of modern infrastructure programs. The position connects engineering, contractors, consultants, Client representatives, utilities, civil works, and smart systems teams so that digital infrastructure requirements are properly coordinated throughout design and implementation. Effective project support in this role will help reduce interface conflicts, improve delivery visibility, and ensure ICT systems remain aligned with wider program milestones and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Support planning, coordination, and delivery of ICT infrastructure and telecommunications projects.
Assist in managing fiber optic networks, telecom infrastructure, digital platforms, and related technology systems.
Monitor project schedules, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and action items.
Coordinate with Engineering teams, Contractors, Consultants, Vendors, and Client stakeholders throughout project execution.
Support preparation and maintenance of ICT project plans and delivery schedules.
Assist in reviewing telecommunications and digital infrastructure design submissions.
Review technical documentation for completeness, coordination, and alignment with project requirements.
Track design comments, technical queries, approvals, and outstanding actions through closure.
Support interface management between ICT systems and Civil, Utilities, Electrical, Smart Systems, Security, and other disciplines.
Coordinate fiber routes, telecom corridors, equipment locations, data infrastructure, and related project interfaces.
Monitor contractor performance against approved schedules, specifications, and quality requirements.
Support resolution of technical and project delivery issues affecting ICT workstreams.
Maintain project risk, issue, decision, and action registers.
Escalate emerging delays, technical conflicts, missing information, and delivery risks to project leadership.
Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, status reports, dashboards, and progress summaries.
Provide accurate project updates to Project Managers and Client stakeholders.
Support coordination meetings, design reviews, technical workshops, and progress discussions.
Assist in tracking procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities for ICT systems.
Monitor project milestones related to telecommunications networks, fiber infrastructure, and digital platforms.
Support data center and communications facility coordination where included within project scope.
Assist in reviewing ICT testing, commissioning, and system integration requirements.
Coordinate with Contractors and Consultants to ensure project information and technical submissions are provided on time.
Support document control and reporting requirements associated with ICT project delivery.
Track contractor compliance with technical specifications, project procedures, and applicable quality requirements.
Support change management by identifying impacts of design revisions, scope updates, and interface changes.
Assist project leadership with resource planning, progress monitoring, and delivery forecasting.
Support integration of smart city technologies with telecommunications and digital infrastructure systems.
Coordinate infrastructure interfaces required for future digital services and connected systems.
Support project closeout by tracking outstanding documentation, testing records, defects, and handover deliverables.
Maintain organized records of project decisions, approvals, technical submissions, and coordination activities.
Promote clear communication and effective coordination across multidisciplinary project teams.
Ideal Profile
The position requires a Bachelor\'s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, supported by at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Candidates should have practical experience supporting ICT, telecommunications, or digital infrastructure projects and should understand the coordination requirements associated with fiber optic networks, telecom infrastructure, data center facilities, and smart city systems.
The successful professional should be comfortable working across multidisciplinary engineering environments and coordinating technical activities between Consultants, Contractors, Client teams, utilities, civil works, and digital systems specialists.
Strong organizational, communication, reporting, and follow-up skills are essential because the role involves monitoring several parallel workstreams, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder actions.
Experience on major infrastructure, smart city, or giga-project developments is preferred. Familiarity with Primavera, Microsoft Project, reporting dashboards, and ICT industry standards would provide an advantage.
PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent project management certification is desirable.
