Role Context
Modern infrastructure developments depend on reliable telecommunications networks connecting buildings, public spaces, utilities, operational systems, and digital services. This graduate role supports the engineering work required to integrate ICT infrastructure into wider civil and multidisciplinary developments.
Working alongside senior engineers, the Graduate ICT Infrastructure Engineer will gain hands-on exposure to outside plant networks, fiber routing, ICT ducting, containment, engineering drawings, technical documentation, and interdisciplinary design coordination. The position provides a foundation for progressing into increasingly complex ICT and telecommunications infrastructure engineering responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with preparation of ICT infrastructure drawings, layouts, schematics, and supporting engineering information.
* Use AutoCAD, Revit, and related design platforms to develop and update project deliverables.
* Support the design of outside plant (OSP) telecommunications infrastructure and site-wide connectivity networks.
* Contribute to fiber-optic routing plans and associated ICT infrastructure arrangements.
* Assist with planning ICT duct routes, containment systems, chambers, and related civil infrastructure.
* Coordinate ICT requirements with civil engineering, utilities, landscape, and other project disciplines.
* Work with senior engineers to identify and resolve design interfaces that could affect telecommunications infrastructure.
* Help prepare technical reports, calculations, schedules, drawings, and design documentation.
* Support documentation required for authority submissions, technical reviews, and project approvals.
* Review project information and incorporate approved design changes into relevant ICT deliverables.
* Learn applicable UAE and GCC telecommunications standards, infrastructure requirements, codes, and engineering guidelines.
* Apply established engineering procedures and quality requirements when preparing design information.
* Participate in multidisciplinary coordination activities and technical discussions.
* Support design reviews by assembling drawings, technical information, and project records.
* Develop an understanding of how ICT infrastructure progresses from early design through detailed engineering and project delivery.
* Maintain accurate technical documentation and respond to design comments under senior engineering supervision.
* Build practical knowledge of infrastructure connectivity, fiber systems, telecommunications networks, and engineering coordination.
* Participate fully in the technical and professional development activities provided through the ADVANCE graduate program.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should hold a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related discipline.
This graduate opportunity is designed for applicants with 0-2 years of relevant exposure. Internships, university projects, and other suitable academic engineering experience may support an application.
Eligibility for the graduate program requires candidates to have graduated within the specified recent-graduate period, with graduation no later than September 2024. Applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.2.
Candidates with a Master\'s degree should have started the postgraduate program within 12 months of completing their Bachelor\'s degree to demonstrate continuous education.
Applicants with more than one year of postgraduate professional work experience are not eligible for this graduate program and should instead consider professional-level opportunities.
A basic understanding of ICT infrastructure, telecommunications networks, fiber connectivity, and engineering design principles is expected. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable design software will be valuable.
An interest in developing professional credentials such as CCNA or BICSI certification would complement the technical development offered by the role.
