Position Overview
The Cargo Controller is responsible for managing container-related documentation and data flow between vessel and line agents, ensuring accurate and timely finalization of loading and discharge lists in line with port and terminal procedures. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, accuracy in data processing, and strong coordination skills. By verifying records, updating systems, and maintaining compliance with cut-off times, the Cargo Controller plays a vital part in supporting efficient terminal operations and smooth invoicing processes.

Core Duties
* Monitor EDI file submissions, correct errors, and coordinate with vessel and line agents.
* Process BAPLIE and Manifest files in the CTMS (Container Terminal Management System).
* Verify and cross-check container discharge and loading lists from multiple input sources.
* Finalize vessel documentation and update CTMS with verified container information.
* Archive load permits, lists, and other documents into vessel files for record-keeping.
* Enforce cut-off compliance by placing holds on late containers and notifying agents.
* Generate and maintain cut-off reports in coordination with Planning and Customer Service teams.
* Inform supervisors of mapping needs for BAPLIE file processing and ensure proper system updates.
* Address customer queries related to vessel documentation and resolve issues promptly.
* Cross-check finalization documents with tally sheets before submitting to finance for invoicing.
* Maintain safety, discipline, and compliance with HSE policies at all times.
Candidate Requirements
* Secondary or Higher Secondary School Certificate required.
* 1–2 years of experience in documentation or data entry, preferably in a container port or maritime operations environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Familiarity with CTMS or similar container terminal systems preferred.
* Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and accuracy in handling data.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
* Good English reading and writing skills; basic Arabic knowledge preferred.
* Clear communication skills for coordination with agents and internal teams.
